West Ham 0 – 0 Villa; A point but, oh dear.

This one will be brief.

I started doing a Windows 8 install on my son-in-law’s computer before the game started and was thinking “bloody hurry up before the game starts!”.
The install took ages longer than I’d expected, so I ended up watching both at the same time.
Guess which one was actually more interesting?

That’s just desperate isn’t it?
Watching a computer update is actually more interesting than watching the Villa these days in my opinion.

What the heck has happened to us?
Where’s the swashbuckling type of play that we demonstrated last season, even though it was probably reckless at times?

I don’t know about you, but I’m beginning to really struggle to watch the frankly rubbish football we’re putting out lately.

No doubt I’ll get the “you’re supposed to be a fan” type of comments, but I’m sorry; I’ve tried to defend what I’m seeing and I just can’t do it anymore.
We are utter rubbish.

Not that West Ham helped things. They’re an even more rubbish side, Nolan apart, who seemed perfectly happy to take the point at home. What sort of attitude is that?
Up to now I’ve always quite admired Allardyce, as he did a great job at Bolton.
But the West Ham fans, with their admirable tradition of trying to play a decent game, must be wondering what the hell they’re watching.

On the plus side, we got a point.
But I’m not even going to go into any detail because the whole game and both sides can be summed up in two words;
DECIDEDLY AVERAGE.

Something needs to change and I don’t see Lambert being the man to do it, I’m afraid.

I agree. the football is worse than average because his style of play, tactics and players he’s bought are just poor. we parked the bus today yet our away form is suppose to be decent! the football has gone backwards since end oflast season when we actually got some good results and perormances but were now struggling to score goals, our forwards have no service and lambert refuses to drop players out of form!

Yes we seem a bit lost, and Lambert has no mix it up properties, which is worrying. On a plus side no conceded goals

I was at Boldmere today (we won 6-1 and the 7th home win of 7 this season !!) and they had the game on and I caught some of it and jeez …

It was shocking, I saw better passing from the 9th tier than £25k a week players. After going to my first game of the season against Everton it just sums the total shiteness of the PL that the hype simply can not hide.

when a manager goes to a team who had lost three on the trot with no forward and plays 5 at the back you can see he is worried …

Maybe we need another relegation battle to actually shock them in attempting to win games ?

I am disappointed as all of you. Our away form from last year completely disappeared. We hoof the ball up field and are hoping something will happen. Its difficult to find positive things but in doing so it´s our defence which looks better. Vlaar is finding his feet and Baker is doing well. Lowton came back and although he was making some mistakes I had the feeling that he has the quality to do something special. His cross to Benteke showed this.
Benteke looks out of form and when this happens he can drives you crazy because he isn´t working hard enough. Hopefully he will find his form.
Generelly speaking, I am with Ian about the quality. This game was a poor affair. It shows that PL is divided in the Top 6 and the rest. And the rest can´t compete.
And one final point: we are winning the Euro youth champions league last year and not one of these youngsters get the chance to perform for a few minutes. Can´t understand this.

Joty agree , what the fuck are we at, better players in the youth team and don’t play, what we do is sell we are conned, not a playing club but just selling club, time to wake up.

Redknapp wouldn’t leave London and would want a lot if money. Plus he did shit with qpr last despite spending a fortune and only 3rd now with the mist expensive team in the division.

and hire Rosey the dog as his assistant? lol

Don’t you remember the home Portsmouth game with ‘triffic’ in charge which we lost a number of seasons ago where he berated the VP crowd because the Holte was singing about his tax court case? he had 50p coins thrown at him and he referred to the songs as ‘filth’

We are the last club Redknapp would came to as he hates us. We are also too far away from his beloved home in Sandbanks.

We also would not pay his wages.

Lambert has to start looking at what is going right and wrong. It seems obvious to me that Lowont and Bacuna would make a nice partnership on the right hand side. Weimann and Benteke always link up well as a front two and will score if we can get balls into the box. Lets switch to more of a 4-4-2. Delph desperately needs a better partner in the middle, but for now one of the others will have to do a job in there, with either Tonev or Gabby playing LM. This would give us much better shape and width, as right now we are all over the place.

Don’t think lowton and bacuna looked good at all today. In theory it’s the obvious thing to do in practice it didn’t seem to work.

Told you all months ago Lamberk was shit, in fact worse than shit as he is patronising and extremely dour on top of the fact he can’t manage and was called all the names under the sun. Saw this coming a mile off from day one.
Randolph Lerner never learns, we needed and still need a young non-British manager with an experienced DOF to help with signings and contacts (again non-British). But that ship has sailed, we are doomed to mediocrity and eventually we’ll be relegated, and will fade into obscurity. Mind you, as hard as it is for the fans, Lerner and Faulkner deserve relegation and Lamberk should go back to mumbling in the SPL which is very much his level.

Spot on belcs hate to agree with you but are a 100% right. We will never do well under Lerner. I wanted Martinez but when he knocked us back lambert was the best if a bad bunch which says it all. Under lambert we nearly had our worst ever start since 1946, wev had the worst gd ever last year, biggest ever defeat, longest record of never keeping a clean sheet and now we will soon be the team that goes the longest without scoring. The big problem is if lambert goes do u really trust Lerner to get anyone decent? I don’t I think we will end up with holloway or pullis. So what’s the point.

From an midfield/ attacking point of view, outside of Benteke every other signing has been a disaster. IMO Benteke was a fluke signing.
Westwood- pointless player, doesn’t score, set plays woeful, not creative, doesn’t break up play
KEA- ineffective 99% of the time
Sylla- Runs around a lot, decent tackler, going forward awful
Tonev- just awful, goal attempts are embarrassingly bad
Bowery- just why oh why did we buy a league two level player
Kozak- At £7m, Lazio must be pissing themselves, slow, zero mobility
Helenius- on the little I’ve seen he looks out of his depth

This is the rubbish lambert has bought, our best midfielder by a mile, Delph, was a MON signing, and even Delph isn’t that good, as we all know he has 0 PL goals to his name. What a farce our squad is.

Agree mate don’t forget how shit bennet, lowton and Luna are either. I will say vlaar has come on a bit and at least average now and okore seemed decent but bad luck he got injured. Guzan of course was a decent resigning. I agree that Benteke is a fluke but he will be off in tge new year and I wouldn’t blame him one bit.

I wouldn’t mind so much if Lambert asked the guys to play for an away point as long as we went all out for 3 at home. But we seem to be even more negative at home! That is just unforgivable. I’m really disappointed, as I got myself quite excited about the prospects for this season.

Paul lambert is the best man for the job at the moment , the problem for me is Lerner who is running the club on the cheap , the budget dictates what sort of players we can attract & if we won’t pay the wages so the quality players won’t touch us that’s why oneil left and we’ve never been competitive since . By the way I’m no MON fan !
Get rid of Lerner and hopefully get a new owner that is willing to invest a few quid and at least make us competitive again , then we get rid of lambert , until then lambert fits the bill perfectly unfortunately for us !

True to a point Markham but he wasted £7m on Kozac when a creative and defensive midfielder were needed more. That’s not Lerner’s fault. Though I agree Lerner should go to.

I don’t think Lambert would buy differently even if he had the budget, I think his ego would clash with bigger better more experienced players.

They played 4-6-0 ….. We played 8-0-2 … Or so it seemed.

What a complete pile of dogshite we have become. That game was made for us to take 3 points and we play the game ultra defensive..!!!
Shocking are Lamberts tactics and we have some even more shocking players.

Thats the last game i’ll be going to until things change, would rather spend my money watching the local shite football in Cambs UTD.

Spot on. Hull game was there for taking as well. It seems like lamberk is doing a mcleish trying to average a point a game to keep us safe and protect out goal diff. He’s basically saying to the the team we can’t win a game so don’t lose it either. Pathetic
