West Ham 0 -0 Villa; A point. At last!

……..Blah, blah…….. having to work work excuses…..

And so I never saw the game; as per usual lately, I’m afraid.

From what I’ve read on here, it seems we were poor early on, but came back into it, only to face an onslaught at the end. And we seemed to try a bit harder than we have done of late.

Nothing special then, but the difference is we got a point for once, against a team who have done pretty well lately. Fat Sam even won the manager of the month award, didn’t he?

Although it seems we tried harder, at the same time it seems we played very much as per usual, with the same old tired tactics where nothing has changed.
To be honest, by the sounds of things, I’m not even convinced if missing the game was such a bad thing, as I can’t stand the way we’ve played football for ages.

But then, for the first time in a very long time, I took a little face to face bet with a Bluenose who said we’d win today.
I said we’d lose 1-3 and I even gave him the draw.
That’s how confident I was that we’d get nothing whatsoever today.
So in that sense, I was glad to lose the bet and tea (or was it a breakfast? I forget) will be on me tomorrow.

While single points aren’t ever going to be good enough in our current position, I tend to think that today’s was a decent one.
It was certainly one I never expected.

If anyone fancies writing a review, either very basic or analytical, feel free and I’ll post it up.

The good news is that Mr Cheese will post a proper review tomorrow.

I treating the game as a platform, but I’m afraid my review tomorrow is not all 100%. Yes there was a lot of positives to take from the game, but what is the point if we lose next week?

I’ll save my onpinions till tomorrow.

I’m glad you said that Mr cheese, from comments I put forward some posters thought otherwise, my claim is they showed more efforts, but as your saying was it just a show on today’s play or are we improved, cannot wait to read your take of the game. I still would like a change in coaching and management.

Great interview with twat-face Lambert on the BBC, the women interviewing him takes him apart.
She say’s that “the fans don’t think your playing very well but you do, how do you explain that?”
He just answers it with repeatition and mumbling. He was totally lost.
The sad thing is with this break the club will totally shut down now.
The momentum that was building in the media will die down and he will get away with it again.
Deep down, how many of us actually wanted us to lose today so that noose could have been tighened even more around Lambert’s neck?
I’m afraid I would have taken a defeat and I think he would of been gone.
    Lambert OUT.

That’s the sad thing I actually know some villa fans that want us to lose so lamberk can go. With international break this is the one and only chance lerner has of getting rid of the useless twat. If it dosnt happen now it never will. I personally can’t see him getting sacked ESP as he’s signed a new deal and also in the unlikely event he does go then what? Prob Keane Or pullis ffs. Unlikely moyes would come but we are jinxed with Scottish managers so would we be much better if lerner won’t spend anyway. The fans at Spurs game last week doc not call for lamberks head nor will they in next home game only got themselves to blame.

F**k me Oohah you’ve so far blamed Leaner, Lambert, Dunne, Collins, Vlaar, Baker, Bennett, Clarke ( this list is not exhaustive) and now it’s the attending fans fault. Just who’s next? The program sellers the canteen staff or the tea lady?

So you don’t think lamberk and lerner are to blame then?

I see that Lamberk has made West Ham out to be Barcelona in his post match comments. Just stopping short of claiming a point at Upton Park is up there with the greatests achievements in out history. I’m sure there’s a few lemmings that will lap that propaganda up. Big Sam was worse though ‘Villa are a Stubborn team to break down…’. Every other team manages it very comfortably. We’ve got a decent run of winnable fixtures now so it’s a crying shame that Lerner hasn’t seen fit to give a new man a nice few opening games to their reign. A great opportunity missed.

They did break us down if carol was on earlier they’d have won. A point by luck than judgement yet again

Badger, some good points in your leader and we did get a point away to the team in 4th place. Desperate yes, lucky yes but we have had plenty of unlucky’s lately. The management, players are desperate for a win so it will be a while before we look pretty. I think Mr Cheese has already written his match report when he says “Yes there was a lot of positives to take from the game, but what is the point if we lose next week?”.

Like most of us I will always remain a Villa fan. I demand the right to say what I like about the club and will defend everything they do in the name of the Claret and Blue no matter how bad some people think we are. So on this particular Sunday morning in rain sodden Ireland I don’t feel so bad. Thank you Mr Guzan.

What I don’t get is in lamberks first season we did score goals prob was we conceded too many. He’s gone from one extreme to the other. I think we all have to accept now that finishing 4th from bottom is al, we’ve got to look forward to lamberk is here to stay unless we get a new owner and lerner could take years to sell us.

Clarke did come on in injury time with Villa desperate to hang on. Fully committed and incredibly lucky to get away as he did but he has my thanks. Anyone remember the players at certain clubs when they were unhappy with their managers (Chelsea, Man Utd and others), they never ran a yard. Whatever we think about our management and the quality of our players they are certainly trying for Lamber and Keane and as individuals you cannot ask for more. Two posts in one day, I think I need a secretary. UTV

I see where your coming from Gerry, and I did actually say that you could see them trying hard, but as we a,l know we don’t have a killer in our forward line, I give up now on Gabby he’s a mystery to any fan at the minute, goes it alone or shoots wide, that’s no good to any team, reading Mr Cheese on other post sums it up for me, its as I said yesterday they tried but haven’t got it.
