By some way Delph’s best game for us.
Grealish was very good, as was Vlaar, Okore was good after he let them score.
Richardson’s best game by some way, Bacuna had a decent game. Cleverley and Westwood were solid, N’Zogbia was okay, wanted too much glory for himself as per usual. Benteke was very good. Cole was useless as per usual, Baker was good before his injury and Sinclair was useless.
Delph was MOTM for me. Grealish had his best game yet and is showing the potential we all knew he had. All three CB’s were pretty good. I thought Cleverly was excellent, especially in the first half. Westwood was the usual westwood. Nzogbia did some very good things and provided a threat, made a case for starting in the final and Sinclair although did nothing to be fair came on at a time when Villa were starting to get nervy and sit back. Richardson surprised me today. Cole wish we would never see him in a villa shirt again.
Thoroughly deserved victory. One of our best performances of the season and two cracking goals!
Our link up and movement in the midfield was brilliant for much of the game, Liverpool could never get their defence set and we just kept moving their players out of position with some quality one touch players and quick movements. Delph, Cleverly, Grealish, Benteke and NZogbia to an extent dominated the game for long periods of time. Made it easy work for our CB’s, Bacuna and Richardson for much of the game

What a game, i thought we totally deserved that, well done the lads.
If ever there was a marker of us perhaps finally moving in the right direction then that was it, in years past we would have lost that match, under Sherwood at the moment we are playing far better than we have done for a very long time, i am enjoying attacking football again, and the fact we are scoring consistently, we are worlds away from Lamberts dire tactics, and yet it’s the same team at Sherwoods disposal.
