Villa v Utd Preview

Utd

So much activity and excitement over the past few weeks it’s hard to know where to begin. We pulled of potentially a great signing today and I, for one, can’t wait to see him play.

Now onto tonight’s game v Utd. This is going to be a nervy game for us especially if we are 1 nil up with 15 mins to go! If we are too win tonight we have got to be at it from the word go. More importantly we have to have the belief we can beat them because if we haven’t we could have Messi and Ronaldho playing for us and we would still lose. Another big factor is the ref off course whom we all know will usually favour Utd especially in the big decisions.

Having said that lesser teams than us have beaten them over the years so it’s not impossible. The good news is De Gea is out tonight and that could prove pivotal in our favour. Defensively we have to be rock solid for 95 mins and not switch off and make mistakes like we did v Bournemouth.

Unfortunately as positive as I am for the club at the moment this game may be a bit big for some of our players and has come too soon. Even though this is not the best Utd team for a long time they still have a bit too much quality for us to deal with. Reluctantly I am going for Villa 0 Utd 2. UTV

Not yet B6, it will take a good 5 games to sort out

The whole club needs an overhaul. From Tom Fox down to Wilkins. The players are not good enough. DEADWOOD OUT!!!

Well that was a balls up…taking Sinclair off when he and Amavi were causing trouble on the wing……all it did was mean no forward play on the left which was all the threat we had………lIke the old times ….NO SHOTS….

I agree, the poorest decision of the match. Sinclair looked to be coming into the game with them tiring, why oh why does gabby get so much game time, no matter the bloody manager

bit of a poor game all round tbh. manure where shite and we couldnt create any chances. Amavi is a different class and Gueye looked absolutely brilliant throughout spells but fitness seems to be an issue. Veretout burnt out mid way through the second. Not convincesd about Ayew bu then again our final ball was non existent. Nothing to be too down about, on another night we could have won that game. Anyone thinking Manure are gonna win the title this year are bonkers, they look shite

Yep utd look shite, just like they did in their first game but they still have 6 points from 2 games, that’s how teams win the league, pick up points when you’re playing shite.

I think the best way to describe that performance was looking at Ayew and Veretout. They had a tough night, you could see the potential in glimpses. I think both could prove to be big players for us. The team clearly has better quality now, still hope!

Come on guys – yes it was disappointing but if we, the fans, give up after one defeat what chance does the team have. We don’t have mumbling Lambert in charge and we do have some decent players. The positives for me were Amavi, Gana (until he ran out of steam!), Westwood and Sinclair. My big gripe – why take off Sinclair who offered more than Gabby? We were pressing the game – took off Sinclair and Manure made two substitutions after which we lost our impetus. Was it manure’s substitutions or ours?

I also think we have to start with Sanchez playing holding midfield alongside Westwood and Gana.

We lacked creativity (as per the last 5 seasons!) but We do have Grealish and Gil to come back.

We all know that we aren’t going to suddenly set the PL alight but on this showing manure aren’t either!

With you on that Hitch, Gabby offers nothing in the game, I’m pleased with that performance ,why ? I can see a team coming, OK not going to win the league but we will worry teams as from now, some moaning already give him time we are a lot better than previous years.

I’m not really sure what some on here expect after just two games with a totally new team up against our Nemasis – but then there are those who get heir kicks by wallowing in the Slough of Despond.

Sure I was disappointed but saw enough to suggest we have the makings of a decent side.

BB – logical objective argument tends not to work on here. You need blind emotional subjective argument – much better!

Bit predictable towards the end, but we do never seem to have the rub of the green against Utd.

Like a few have mentioned nice to see players who are comfortable on the ball in the middle and not treating it like a hot potato.

Agbonlahor, Ayew and Sinclair isn’t the right balance up front, looks a bit lightweight. You can say they didn’t have much service, however the better players make opportunities themselves.

Promising signs though. Micah was solid and Amavi kept plugging away down the left. Add Grealish, Gil and Traore to the mix and we’ll have more of a cutting edge.

Right or Wrong? What do YOU think?
