Villa v Norwich Preview

Tonight’s game sees the start of a crucial month for us. With games coming thick and fast this is a chance for us to gain ground quickly on the teams above us. Where we are in the new year will determine what type of player Bruce will buy.

With Kodja and co going AWOL in the new year it’s crucial we max out on as many points as possible starting with tonight’s game.

Norwich have only won once in the last 9 games where we have only lost once in that time but as we know any team in the past that has an unwanted record usually ends it against us. But not tonight! This is a different more resilient Villa with a streetwise manager. Our away form this season has been woeful but I feel now we have consolidated our home form we are now ready for the next step of learning to win away on a more regular basis.
My prediction for tonight is 3.1 to us. UTV.

    That was poor performance by Bruce tonight. Wrong tactics and lineup. Gabby should be nowhere near the first team. How dejected must McCormack be sitting on the bench with his record and gabby starting with his. Sorry Brucey but your bang out of order with that decision.

    There is no point whatsoever us going up this year. Just papering over cracks. 1 away win in 16 months! And how many have we played in the championship and still only 1 win.. woeful. Bruce best be in the shop window looking for replacements in the morning.

    So frustrating, we offered nothing.

    Sad thing is I didn’t think Norwich played that well, we just made them look good. It may be a competitive league but it’s short on quality all round.

    Grealish is struggling as he wants to play quick one touch football but Kodjia and Ayew just take too long to bring the ball under control and then try and beat their man. Lay the ball off straight away we have the legs to worry most defenders.

    Reality check x 2 – not a hope in hell of promotion this season on that showing. And for me Bruce got it all wrong.

    No more to say really other than we can now celebrate two years on Sky TV without a win. Last televised league win was 14th December 2014. Still, only two more games on TV in December!

    Performances seem to have dropped since Colin Calderwood changed or just unfortunate coincidence?

    Ayew is the biggest disappointment this season. Expected a lot more from him. The rest of last seasons loosers where always shit.

    Hutton = Shit
    Westwood = Shit
    Gestede = Shit
    Bacuna = Shit
    Gardner = Shit
    Cissoko = Shit
    Richards = Shit
    All the keepers = Shit

    Replace that lot with proven quality and we have the basic for a realistic push for promotion NEXT season. I really think it is beyond us this season. Time to build for next season.

    Bruce now knows this and I’m sure he will buy the right players. Fair play to him. Just listened to his interview and he was not a happy bunny.

    Didn’t think we even deserved a draw. Every tackle we went into a Norwich player came away with the ball. We looked jaded and lacklustre.

    Elphick was absolutely useless, hope Baker gets fit quick.

    Honestly think if we’d had Brady on our side we might have actually won, he was good at holding on to the ball and was always pushing forwards. Hope the rumours about us signing him are true.

    Oh well. let’s hope for better against QPR on Sunday.

    When are manager’s going to see that the likes of Westwood has no vision in a game, we are a none creative team , no good sending that lot out to play football, they cannot , i could put my players in the opposition’s box if I was playing, that lot are shit shit shit.
