Villa – Sheff Weds; Hopefully the start of a decent run

I’m fed up.
I have a very decent, well paid job, but it involves long hours and weekends are the most important part of the week.
I quite simply have to turn in.

Which makes it a pain for me when we get a normal Saturday afternoon kick-off.
Hence this is yet another game that I won’t get to see live.
I must be one of very few who actually like the late Sky starting times.

Whatever, what do I say here?

We all know the score and it’s simply that we need to win if we’re to maintain momentum and keep the pressure on the clubs above us.

I have to be honest and say I know very little about Wednesday or how they play, save to say I have a work colleague who supports them and he’s been very quiet lately, which suggests to me that they just haven’t been very good.

From what I’ve read on flicking around, Carvalhal is under serious pressure, which strikes me as odd, given that he was flavour of the month not so long back. It is indeed a funny old game.

Straight on to squad news then and Kodjia might be ok, but it’s doubtful.
Jack Grealish is in contention, but I reckon he’ll be on the bench, if he’s involved at all.
Bruce obviously rates him, so will probably look to bring him on if things are going ok.
Gabby is still injured. Enough said there.

Bruce could change things up, but I doubt he will.
Taylor could come in for Hutton, for instance, but why would you do it?
Hutton is probably our best player over the last month, even though he’s played out of position.

In this sense, I think the manager is calling it spot on.
Play the same players every game, until there’s a reason not too, in my opinion.
14 players won us the league, all those years ago, after all.
As Bruce has said, the likes of young Callum O’Hare will get their chances.
I believe we have seven games in December, when it’s proper cold and injuries will creep in.
And this is where squads will show the difference, when it comes to lasting the course.

As for the Owls, Daniel Pudil is a major doubt and Midfielder Sam Hutchinson, striker Fernando Forestieri and winger George Boyd remain sidelined.

So given that I’m very much guessing then, so I have to go on form and ours is just better.
Wednesday (it’s a strange but great name isn’t it? Nearly as good as ours and very British) won their last game, but have only achieved back-to-back wins once this season.

Add in our home advantage, coupled with the fact that the corresponding fixture last season saw us get a 2-0 win, I have to think we should win this.
The bookies agree, with us being near evens and Wednesday 2-1.

I’m hoping this will be a decent game and am going to predict a 2-1 win.

UTV!

I am rarely confident, but I am about Villa in this game. Wednesday are too open in style, rather like Norwich, to prosper at Villa Park. I think it would take two early lapses by Villa’s defence, gifting them a 0-2 lead for Wednesday to win it. I don’t see that happening, I expect Villa to take the lead.

just to correct myself. i dont own a wolves kit,i never knew they sold replicas of their kits. or i own a ps4 wished i could find time to play away on them. i was a little pis sed last night, from a after works do. but i stand by the ooohahaha comment. he is honest about villa from day 1. he was always critical.but he also spoke with honestly. because we have been really bad. he also has done this to increase the conversation get ppl talking. which we all can appreciate. but jvillan has constantly villa bashed and it was about time badger point this out. he was spot on in saying if supporting villa made him feel like that, then its time to change his pastime activity.

i watched wolves fulham and i wasnt impressed with either. fulham were playing nice pretty pattern football. with no end product. wolves were just a little better in both boxes. do i fear wolves nope if they get promoted great. but they wont take all three positions. if they are going up still leaves another 2 spaces. which i said top two. but even going up through the playoffs at wembley will be exciting. that will make me happy but what will make jvillan happy

Think Wolves are going to get first place. But we can get second. A win today coupled with a Cardiff v Bristol C draw and we are just three points from second. Getting closer. See Bruce has been praising Whelan. He doesn’t look like a footballer and his passing is t great but he does seem to keep us ticking over and holds up opposition attacks. Whelan and Jedinak and Davis are the key to us going up alongside our rock solid defence.

Been following Villa since 66ish….started going every match when got a job….but with marriage and kids came a tight budget so could only go down a few times over last 30 years …was like a Pig in S*** the last 5 years in Prem as son had got me a thing on computer and could watch almost every match.
Not so good in this league but enthusiasm still as strong……

Even I expect us to win today. I hope that’s not bad luck. 2-1 seems about right.

its a shit league says the expert. but even his one true love wolves have lost games this season. if the league was worse than last year. they wouldnt be losing any. fulham, reading and wednesday all struggling this season after last season, where they all had really strong campaigns.

even sunderland are finding the drop hard to acclimatize they might even drop another league. its easy to be critical about villa. you just simply throw enough mud. some is bound to stick.

oh and i dont recall anybody claiming wolves before a ball was kicked. even the master of soccer. i am sure he said Middlesbrough. i will have to get somebody to check this out.

this season is going just as i thought. only one surprise is wolves doing really good. i knew reading and sunderland would struggle. and sheff utd would surprise a few. i still think villa will get promoted doesnt matter how i will get paid either way they achieve that.

formation looks likes 442 and hogan and davis upfront. i have no doubts hogan is a decent striker. playing with davis will give hogan somebody he can run off. hogans strengths are running in behind and is a decent finisher. fingers crossed they are a good partnership i think they compliment each other

wtf lol shit league lol wednesday have dominated villa. we cant handle their pressing. davis and hogan isolated. wide boys snodgrass and adomah absolutely invisible. snodgrass is having a laugh if hes complaining about being subbed. to be fair both did nothing only give away ball. its gonna be a long embarrassing 2nd half if they come out with same clueless and lack of energy game.

I’ve tried to to tell you idiots that villa are far from being a contender to go up, you are all living in a dream because we love the club, stop and think, we haven’t the player’s to fight for the money they get., you keep giving your thinking on how we should play, yet we will get nowhere its a shambles in what we we do..
