Villa Into Baath

Reports circulating on the internet that we are about to make a move for Wolves Centre Half Danny Baath for £5m. Though Wolves are denying interest and saying he is not for sale anyway.

He recently signed a new deal with Wolves in Jan and is 23 yrs old.

I have to be honest iv never heard of this guy and have no idea if he is any good or not. If anyone knows more about him please comment.

Thanks

Nath….spot on mate. If we still had the likes of Milner, Young, Downing and Barry then, and only then could we afford the luxury that is Darren Bent. He is just, simply, the waste of a shirt!

we can only hope keano and lambert see this.

also ur right with milner and downing oh and young, there we had players who could create, so buying bent was a good move. proven goal poacher, a fox in the box. trouble is our owner gets itchy feet and sells barry milner young downing and then were left with bent on massive wages and as u say a waste of a shirt.

wots ur opinion on the narrow way we play. no width only the fullback hutton tried 2 go on the outside. and why does lambert persist with weimann and gabby, in the inside right and left kind of position. couldn’t u play 2 extra midfielder in their roles that way we keep the ball more

Nath..quite simple, we have no decent wide players. So its got to be Hutton and Richardson supplying the width unless other options are purchased…. dont hold your breath on that one mate!

then playing bent as the main striker 2day was pissing in the wind 🙁 i can’t see why bent has returned 2 the fold. we can’t create for him the service he needs. aving gabby as main man at least he would create space. with his speed the defence would back off him bent offers nothing

Langford, the one decent wide player we had, in Albrighton has just been given away!
All because he would have cost £35k a week.
It’s just pathetic, when Leicester can outbid us for him.

Mutton isn’t the solution down our RH side, simple, same as anyone we have isn’t the solution down the left.

          Hutton and Richardson? 🙁
They’re just quite simply not good enough, imo.

And it seems to me Lambert doesn’t have the first clue about defenders or Mids anyway.
Or strikers, come to think of it.
          Totally depressing.

We all know Hutton and Richardson are not good enough. What I said was ‘tongue in cheek’. But thats where we are at….shit street!

You have to wonder what is going through Ron Vlaar’s head today watching that rubbish! Why would he stay? If a stable club comes in for him, he’ll be gone. If only Southampton come in for him, i think he’ll stay.

We are in big trouble though, looking at the fixtures, I will be shocked if we are not bottom 3 come October.

      Yep, totally agreed Benno.
      I suspect we’ll be bottom 2.
And that’s when I’ll make my final judgement, along with pretty much everone else, I’m guessing.

Most sane people have already made their mind up on this idiot. How many chances does this guy get?
        Badger, Lambert is a joke.

Lamberk, as much as you don’t like it, there are quite a few who blame it more on Lerner.
That’s a fact, from what I’m reading on Villa sites all over.

Me, I see it as both are culpable; in that we have a poor manager and an owner who just wants out.

It makes no odds to me mate.
Both need to go, as the way things stand, the situation is toxic and we’ll be going down sooner rather than later, without major changes.

          1. Lamberk August 2, 2014 at 9:57 pm .

Totally agree Badger. Lerner is at fault, he created this mess.
But let me ask you this, Randy Lerner appointed Alex McLeish, but it was McLeish NOT Lerner who took the brunt of the fans fury so why is it any different for this joker?

        2. nath August 2, 2014 at 9:45 pm . Reply

lambert may be the joke but lerner is the punch line ~ just cos we lose a game pre season, does not mean we will finish bottom. unless lamberk u can hire another manager thats willing 2 take lamberts job with no money 2 spend or maybe u think keano could do a better job than say the one he did at Ipswich.

yes av a moan about the display or selections or even players, but apparently the word around ere was pre season is just that and was about fitness, or is it only pre season when we win meaningless game, rather than when we lose then its a sign were doomed 2 finish bottom ……..hypocrites

          1. Lamberk August 2, 2014 at 10:02 pm .

Nath. I like everybody else just simply dismissed pre-season games.
However, I changed my mind a couple of years ago when I attended the Forest pre-season game. We lost 3-1 that day and what I was watching performance wise is exactly how the season panned out.
So I wouldn’t be too dismissive of these results.
I admire you for trying to put a positive spin on things but whats gone on at the club these past 4 years is totally unacceptable.

          2. nath August 2, 2014 at 10:18 pm .

i admire ur fight to see a revolution, but let me tell u nothing will change, unless u take out the main man and that’s lerner 🙁 lambert is a mere puppet, happy 2 keep villa up this won’t hurt his stock.

this summer has been a crime, lerner should be up in front of the magistrate. its a crime wot his doing 2 the pride of the midlands. hes killing the club we love and hes doing it in front of our eyes

lerner is the man that has 2 go and i don’t know how 2 speed this along, he will take us down before lose out on money. so getting shut of lambert won’t make a difference cos no decent manager would risk their rep on us until a new owner arrives

          3. nath August 3, 2014 at 8:11 am .

            oohahahahaha

ur wrong as per usual. the team u called rubbished won ten of their games on a bounce end of the last season. ur great at undermining other teams. hey we lost but pre season games are about fitness u even called it other day as well.

if we lose the first 3 games, i won’t be slagging the best player off we av, in vlaar like some arseholes do. yes villa have big problems and under invested in quality players is the biggest factor.

whether we like this or not the season ahead is gonna be a struggle, lerner has screwed the club up, yet some muppet’s go for the middle men or players, if u want changes stick 2 ur guns and aim high at the top the main man is lerner.

Lamberk, all footy fans are cynical (or should that be fickle?) in going for the easiest target.

That’s how it works and AM was linked to our biggest enemies, so deflected the blame.

For me, that didn’t make one iota of difference.
He’s a shit manager, in footballing terms.
But actually quite a good one in managing a business.
Which is why he was taken on.
And says all about how Lerner viewed the club at the time.

I have 20/20 hindsight, in all fairness 🙂

  6. Ken August 3, 2014 at 9:05 am . Reply

Lerner taking the Sky money is the bottom line. Venture Capitalists are the Lerner Trust and they will sink this club and not care what it means to us, the Villa fraternity.

There was once a company called British Leyland (became Rover) and what happened there WILL happen at the club called Aston Villa and like Rover the thieves will get off with our money, never having to answer for their crimes and what they will leave behind will eventually just become a painful memory of what once was

And they will not care who they tread on, steal from, impact, hurt or cause damage to as long as they get what the greedy money grabbing Lerner’s wants. And please don’t think Lambert doesn’t know this, he is only there to get the big payday and then he will walk away to live on millionaire row.

Interesting reading Ken as pointed out in the article ‘we’re not employees of avfc’& imo that’s bang on.we’re fucking paying customers who have more passion about the club than those dictating bastards,of course the fans should have a voice good or bad that’s life.fairplay to any chairperson who doesn’t sign up to this tripe, the VILLA is ours & always will.vtid

Villa have gone one step too far with those dictatorial rules and regs. Does make you wonder what sort of idiot decides to put this kind of shit on loyal and faithful supporters. I suggest that they would be better off getting things right on the playing side!

There is not one thing to be optimistic to excited about going into this season.
The squad we have is very poor by anyone’s admission, the players brought in thus far are dreadful freebies that nobody else wanted (2 of which played in a defence that was the worst in the PL last season and 1 a sicknote who won’t play more than 10 games, if that).
We have a CFO combining roles as a CEO, so there is zero leadership from board level and an owner who has zero interest in on the pitch matters.
We are stuck with a patronising, woeful manager who has humiliated our club over and over again, simply by default, as a new or interested chairman would have sacked Lamberk months ago.
The only decent defender we have in Vlaar is likely to leave and our best player by a country mile is missing for the first few months of the season.
This has relegation written all over it. It’s not negativity or pessimism, if you take an objective look at the situation, it’s obvious we’re going to struggle massively.
We’ll fail to reach 30 points IMO and will finish bottom.

He got Senderos, Cole and Keane right. He got Ki before any of the papers did, he said that deal was off before the papers did. He said an unpopular loan could be on the cards, a day later Lowton is being touted for a move to ‘boro? I’d trust his say more than most, but that’s just me mate.

Right or Wrong? What do YOU think?
