Villa-Hull; Protest during the game or not?

The last home game of the season has come around again and once again we’re perennial strugglers.
I’m stating the obvious there, of course, but it got me thinking about how the fans should react during this game, which I’ll be attending with two of my grandkids, my son-in-law and his father.

The truth is, I’m not even looking forward to it game-wise, although the atmosphere should be pretty good. Assuming we’re putting up a decent show, that is.
Which is the part that worries me.

The headline question I’ve asked should of course be a no-brainer. You support the team through thick and thin, particularly during the game.

But let’s say we are losing early on.
Then what?
Do we keep blindly supporting a team that might be taking us down?
Or should we voice the disdain that we apparently near enough all view the hierarchy in?

That’s my personal dilemma.
If we are indeed losing and looking as poor as we have mostly done through the season, especially at home and keep blindly supporting, we won’t be making a major point in the most powerful way we can ie chanting loudly for Lambert/Lerner/the board out.
That’s the part that gets shown on the news and chanting/protesting after the game has finished doesn’t do it, in my opinion.
And the whole lot of them will have basically gotten away with it.

I already know what most of the responses will be.
“You can’t create a negative vibe when the team needs us in such a dire situation”.
And those responses will be correct.
Even Lambert knows it and actually said it in a recent interview.
Football fans support, no matter what. It’s what we do.
Indeed, I can’t see myself protesting during the game.

But I’m wondering if it might be better for the club overall, if I do, in that it might drive the message home to Lerner and Faulkner.

What a state we’re in for me to even contemplate such a thing.

Protest after the game not before or during we really need to be supportive this game and the players need that extra lift. Another thing is the atmosphere could be rocking prior to kick off, if small heath are relegated then I think that would give the crowd a big boost. Win lose or draw protest after the game.

That won’t happen imagine if we win 3.0 then lambert apologists will bury their heads in the sand again. Best to protest before game then at half time. Fuck the getting behind team bollox wev been behind them all season and they are still shit. They are paid thousands a week to win whether we get behind them or not. They can’t even give us anything to get behind either.

NO WAY protest during the game. I think everyone should turn their backs as soon as the players emerge from the tunnel for the end of season farewell. This would get the message through clearly……perhaps accompanied with a slow handclap!
But PLEASE, for 90 minutes give your all!

She’s bang on the money, can you imagine if the players came round to do a circuit of the pitch, and not one person clapped or said anything. Not that you could ever get everyone to do this, but that would certainly make the papers. “The whole stadium in silence as the players did a curcuit round the pitch clapping the supporters for their support during the season”

if Lambert, Lerner, Faulkner, don’t know the game is up already protesting during/after the game is pointless if results go our way on Saturday and we protest the media would have a field day with fickle villa fans win, lose, protest,or accept it calmly were bolloxed

Does it matter what the media claim though? They have no idea what Villa fans actually think/go through. They’re spitting out garbage to get readers, insulting Villa fans gets that.

If I was able to be there on saturday I would want to give them hell from start to finish but I will be distracted from that anyway as I will be following the Stoke v Fulham game more closely than our own. Sums up how shite we have become that I have more hope for Stoke to save us from relegation than ourselves. Those that can attend should give them both barrells as you may never get another chance to or it could be to late.

its already too late to to protest to make any difference, support during the game win or lose, we have probably left it to late to organize a measured dignified protest that would be picked up across the pond to embarrass the the no class septic.

Protest. Before kick off. Cheer the lads on IF they deserve it. Half time – protest. If we’re losing towards the end then may all hell break loose. Protest after the game too.
The three idiots need to go. A rubbish chairman, a rubbish ceo and a rubbish manager. The club will be there long after we, they and the players have all gone. The club us what matters and it needs a MASSIVE shake up. Don’t be weak – ruffle feathers now!!

If this is true it means Lerner and lamberk are here next season. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2617209/Aston-Villa-raise-expectations-targetting-Javier-Hernandez-Lewis-Holtby.html#comments

I think the only protest they will understand is one that hits them in the wallet. Therefore do not buy ST’s early for the 10% discount. Wait and see which division you will be watching and who is filling the claret & blue shirts, and the dug out. You can be reasonably certain a seat similar to yours will still be available post the world cup.

Regardless of the mess at VP and we are like a ship populated by human inhabitants who are deranged, frivolous, or oblivious passengers aboard a ship without a pilot, and seemingly ignorant of their own direction but still better the devil you know and all that?
All I’m going to add is look at the league table, it’s Hull’s first season in the EPL whereas the SKY money’s been rolling in down at VP season after season but there a gain we could do worse than Randy, couldn’t we???

So the question is, protest or don’t. Well… The players have been supported each and every game for 35 games, has it worked? No. Do they play any harder for it? No. Do they care? Very few. Supports backing the players has done absolutely nothing for them. It’s the one thing that pisses me off about Lambert the most, this “we need support” garbage.

Gabbys come out in the press and said he his up for the fight against Hull.
Where has he been for the rest of the season (except Liverpool away first half).
No protest during the game – it can do no good to the platers at all.

Definitely support during the whole game its the biggest game of our season which is depressing but it is what it is! All these hypocrites sayin we should hav half time protests and crap and then also say the players should be up for this game no matter what sorry but it just doesn’t work that way! If we’re losing 1-0 at half time the fans should support even more and give their all through the whole game just like they expect the players too! If the players heads dropped at half time and they gave up they would be slated so why should fans do it? If we lose then give them hell!

I may be missing the point here but why would calling for lambert, lerner and the board to go during the game effect the players?

if at half time and we are loosing you boo the players off which is worst? I have head boos a plaenty this season at half and full time but on the other hand ive heard 18 games at home where the crowd are right behind the lads.

Football is about entertainment…if you start watching a film and 10 minutes in you decide you cant get into it you turn it off?? but the crowds have come in there thousands all season.. “Lamberts words”

However, I agree with the posts at the start, its not the players fault that some are not good enough nor is it there fault what system the management team set them up in.. players make mistakes every week (ask stevie G) that’s a fact of life here.

For me its irrelevant if the media pick on any protest aslong as the correct people hear it. for me it should start before the game… fans arrive early in there thousands and say what you want to say.. and then during half time and the final whistle.
