Villa Blow It Again!

Well what can I say. Simply pathetic. The fist half except for the first ten minutes we were all over them. Everyone playing well and Westwood and Gabby in particular causing all sorts. We were unlucky not to be ahead at half time.

Then the second half emerged and out came typical one half Villa that has been a huge feature under Lambert. Once Westwood went off the team suddenly went to pieces for some reason. All of a sudden the keystone cops defending appeared and when Vlaar was turned inside out by Remy the outcome was inevitable. Just before that Vlaar playing silly buggers in our box game them an open goal chance that hit the post. And Bacuna was fortunate not to give away a pen after a blatant handball. Benteke and Weimann may as well have stayed at home the lack of contribution they both made and why cant someone explain the offside rule to Benteke.

On a positive side Westwood had his best game for us and is suddenly looking quality. Bertrand again looks like like a proper left back and Baker had one of his better games.

Bottom line though is we failed to score, failed to win and only 4 points of the bottom. Same old, same old.

Lambert is fucking useless. Simple as that. As much as we all wanted him to succeed, he was the wrong choice and we need to move on. Sacking him now may work against us, so it would prob be best to wait until the end of the season. However, the thought of giving him a 3 year contract is moronic, but given the decisions made over the last few seasons, would not surprise me in the slightest.

The more I think about it the more apathetic I am as to whether we stay up or not- I genuinely don’t care. Say we scramble together the points to stay up, then as has been pointed out we’ll bring in more cheap dross and be in the same position again in 12 months.
This is the height of Aston Villa’s ambitions.
And as Wigan found out, you keep playing with fire at the bottom, you will eventually get relegated.
I can confidently say by the time this woeful Lerner era is over, we will be a mid table championship club at best.

I wont go over all that’s been no doubt said just to say for me the subs were very bad, im guessing westwood was injured? I cant for a minute imagine lambert would ever take him off ever. im no fan of westwood but he had a decent game today and by comparison sylla has finally proved to me he has no place in a premiership team, he was awful and the few recent showings we’ve seen of him as sub have been woeful too, imo he shouldn’t be making the bench again especially as today he was playing in his apparently ‘favoured’ DM position.
Bennett coming on I just didn’t get, was Bertrand struggling? bringing Bennett on may have been the move if we were 1-0 down but as it was it made no sense.
main problem, we had a decent 1st half and didn’t show up at all for the 2nd half.
benteke was poor (again!) but to be fair to him he was being well double teamed by the CB’s who were all over him in the air so why we continued to play that ball to him is beyond me, we were much better keeping it on the floor like 1st half.
the last 15mins we allowed them to win that game.
I said before the Cardiff match that I expected 5pts absolute minimum from the games against Cardiff, west ham, Newcastle and Norwich as we have Chelsea, man city and man utd in march. we’ve already messed up a very reasonable expectation of 5pts, fail to win next week and we may well be ‘that team’ this season. 🙁

I hate to sat it but we are well & truly in the shit big time.We looked poor today and lacking in quality. To top it off Norwich beat Spurs. We are in a relegation battle again does no one at AVFC know that we are well & truly lacking in quality.Ron Vlaar was good today but went to ground to early when the drunks scored. We could go down….

We are getting relegated whether it is this season or next it is going to happen. Lambert should have been sacked at Xmas, no point now. What manager would get anything out of that load of shite.

heard on twitter that Westwood and a few other players turned on other players due to lack of effort. Vlaar put out a tweet as well that said ‘I’m sorry for this result, unnecessary, can’t say more now….’ what that means i dont know.

Lambert needs to grow a pair of bollocks and completely drop benteke i have no idea what happened to the player from last season but he is not at VP anymore, looks like we have another big time charlie on our hands.

Westwood and Vlaar played well, KEA harrassed players well (wish he had more to his game). Baker put in a shift but he gives away a lot of corners this can be worked on and in a few years we will have a great CB on our hands.

Wiemann another i have made it player sorry but someone needs to say to these lads if you cant make it at Villa at this time you are not going to make it anywhere, if Lambert drops some of these players within a couple of seasons they will be playing for Barnet

As much as i blame Lambert for our tactics i have to say the players are more at fault at the moment just a total lack of effort and pride.

Heard from a mate who works in the media centre at SJP that there were big time rows at full time.
Seems there are a minority of players who want to play for the shirt, and a majority who don’t give a shit. Either way, few at VP believe in Lerners joke of a project.
Mate might be a Geordie but respects the Villa as a big time old school club.

All of our last 3 games were winnable and we have come away with 1 point and no goals scored. It is pathetic. Even the point we picked up at Cardiff was made to look insignicant when Hull thrashed them yesterday. Sadly, we are a very poor side from back to front. Without Vlaar we cant defend and now even with Benteke, we cant score!

Just remind me again Lambert, what was the purpose of the Portugal jolly? I did not see anything which looked like a worked on training ground move. Perhaps the idea was to recharge the little grey cells inside Guzan’s head. If so can you explain how – when he has the ball in his arms with the clock showing 90.25 – and he has the choice of punting up the right wing where Gabby has twice controlled it and sent KEA away, or punting up the left wing where it previously came straight back towards the hapless Bennett – he chooses to send it up the left wing and have it returned for a score?

I do not know what Lambert says in the dressing room but I suspect Ferguson Mourinho and Pulis would leave them a good deal more shaken after witnessing the same tripe.

  9. Man the bedsheets, boys, we’re in for a bumpy spring. European cup winners DO NOT go to sides like Newcastle and get beaten. They certainly do not allow them to have 70% of the ball and they also do not give the ball away in their own sodding box. It’s time we forced the board into making a decision on Lamberk and voted with our feet on matchdays until he takes his negative football elsewhere. We must stand united, bedsheets aloft and singing VTID and ‘have you won the European Cup’ at the top of the Holte steps for the full 90 minutes. This will show that we love the club and our proud of our illustrious history, which is being besmirched by Lamberk and his army of kids. We must take our bedsheets in our hands, and we must never give in. We shall go on to the end. We shall hang our bedsheets in the stands, we shall hang our bedsheets from cars and pub windows, we shall hang our bedsheets from trees and lampposts, we shall defend our club, whatever the cost may be. We shall protest on the terraces, we shall protest at the training ground, we shall protest in the pubs and in the streets, we shall send shit parcels to Faulkner; we shall never surrender,

your right Oohah, bedsheets will not be allowed and the man that makes the decisions won’t see them anyway, he will be sitting in his ranch chilling out, whilst Fatty Faulkner is telling him everything is going well…. Shit Manager, shit owner and even shittier CEO.

Right or Wrong? What do YOU think?
