Leeds current form – no suprise there with Gary Monk in the driving seat. Swansea should have held their nerve. Good Manager is Monk.
p.s. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate Birmingham City FC?

leeds are capable of beating any team in the championship on any given day, this includes villa. they lacked a real goal threat, in all the games i av seen them in.but they controlled them games. so my early prediction for that game is 00 boredraw.

i don’t think i have heard you have mentioned, your hate for the blues. but would love too hear you take them apart lol

I read in Nath’s comments that HS2 is supposed to be cutting through BMH. No news of that percolated this far South. If it is true it is brilliant news. The place is jinxed. We will collect full compensation and enough to buy a farmers field elsewhere.

Now I know why you’re called OLL – Always one for an original thought 🙂

Now are there any farmer’s fields left in Greater Brum?

Should never have sold their old training ground near Villa Park. I remember my dad and uncles were up in arms about it at the time as they reckoned it was just money grabbing by the board.

It was called the Serpentine if I remember right. Anyone else remember it?

I remember that name but never knew where it was.

Behind the church and sold to Asda, wasn’t it?
I occasionally used to play around Villa park as a kid, although I came from Pype Hayes.
I remember the back to backs behind the Holte pub. I jumped over a two foot wall once, without looking, only to find a 10ft drop on the other side.
I thought I’d broken both my ankles lol 🙂

But I can’t say I remember the Serpentine much, as it was just waste land, I think.

I believe you’re right: not sure about any lake there earlier, but the Serpentine was part of the Aston Lower Grounds, and apparently fairs were held on it [pre-war at least].

It was part of the land sold to Asda in the 70’s and has been a match-day car park for some years now – although I think there’s some building work going on there at the moment?

Wasn’t the Serpentine the name of the lake, part of the original pleasure grounds over which VP was built?

Bill I think I remember when I was five or six going to the fair after a match.

I can still remember members of my family moaning about the move but I think that was mainly because they could go and watch them training when they were still close to Villa Park. My uncle was on shifts and used to go there quite a few days in the week, always knew who was injured and so on.

Unfortunately a very long time ago now

2-2 for me lads, watched Leeds a few times and they are unpredictable. If we win this I know we will go up.

Right or Wrong? What do YOU think?
