Villa 2 Liverpool 1

Well well well…

What can I say thankfully I was proved wrong. Not only did we beat Liverpool we did it with bells on.

Apart from a dodgy 5 mins in the first half when they scored and last 5 mins of second half we looked surprisingly comfortable v a shell shocked Liverpool.

Great performances all round and both goals were class. Both had great build ups and we broke with poise, style and pace to mesmerise their defence.

Delph MOTM but today everyone was 8/10 imo. Okore was caught out for their  goal but recovered superbly to mark Sterling out the game as he could match his pace. Grealish was superb and lively on the break and like a typical youngster was unfazed by the whole thing.  Even Vlaar did well tbf and the defence was rarely troubled. Bent eke of course was unplayable and spread panic to their back four for the whole game.

So onwards and upwards let’s see if we can take this form into the premier league as this is the best 90 mins I have seen us play for many a year tbh.

Well done lads bring on the Arsenal.

When you look at it, both of our fullbacks today aren’t really fullbacks, we had trouble at centre half and Sanchez / Gabby were both out and are probably guaranteed starters – it shows the spirit and surprisingly the ability running through the squad – we were led to believe we were useless under Lambert because he had bad players.

Thinking about next season we could realistically be without Vlaar, Cleverley, Benteke (although I’m hopeful), and Sinclair (although I think he’ll sign on) – it could be a massive rebuilding exercise. But strangely I’m relaxed about it………..could be the Port that’s too blame for that though.

I hope Sanchez plays in the final, he took one for the team imo last week by getting himself sent off and missing today’s game.

I seen a video on YouTube showing team celebrating on the pitch after and Sherwood hugs Sanchez. You can hear him telling him “You might get to play Wembley after all !”

Hi Guys, travelling today so listened on radio. Wife and I couldn’t take the last 4 minutes and turned down the sound. Going to celebrate tonight – what a great day after such a dark year. Delph is beginning to show the promise that persuaded MON to buy him (credit where credit is due).

OohAh come on man lighten up; I know you get off on being negative but now’s the time to enjoy our success.

TS is still relatively inexperienced but if he was a European manager everyone would be wetting themselves over his success. Why, because he’s English, is there a lack of brief in his ability.

Now I’m returning to the whisky.

Giddy, Langford UTV – never ever lost the faith.

Absolutely fantastic result. Young Jack played like a lion, absolutely wonderful performance.
However Delph was awesome as was Benteke. Hope we can keep him next season but if not he’s definitely saved our bacon and we’ll get an great pay out for him.

Wow really think that we can beat a complaisant Arse team who think all they have to do is turn up to win.

    Our year – our cup!

I dont know about Sanchez for the final. As much as I like him he always has a mistake in him. Westwood is more consistent across the board and had a great game today.

The other interesting one is to see if Gabby gets back into the starting XI or do we keep going with the formation we played today?

Scintillating football…..as said where did that come from……cant remember seeing anything like it from a Villa side………thought my head was exploding as I did the Brazilian commentators G O A L shout on the 2nd one………
Need to contact Little Tim as he’s the link to Big Tim to tell him to get the lads to stop showing off instead of going for their throats…the last 5 mins wouldn’t have mattered if they had driven on instead of resorting to side and back passes when clearly they had Pool on the rack….they did the same when 4-0 at Sunderland…it should have been 10…and a good GD.
Interesting times ahead …what a last month we have to LOOK FORWARD to…….now never thought that would be written.

Agreed mate, it won’t the last month of the season any of us were expecting a couple of months ago.

Right or Wrong? What do YOU think?
