I’m stunned.
The first half sounded superb and Tony Morley suggested that the first half was the best we’d played for around two years. Indeed, it sounded like even Westwood, Gabby and Hutton were playing really well and Johnstone hardly touched the ball.
At one stage, it wouldn’t have been a surprise if we were 4-0 up; we were that impressive.
So what happened?
We went in two up at half time and things should have been very comfortable.
Nothing changed when the teams came back on and we retained the same 4-1-4-1 that seemed the best balanced we’ve been in a long time.
Yet we still managed to let them back into it and this surely has to be a mental thing?
Steve Bruce, who I don’t see got it wrong today, even though I feared for us from the off when I saw the line-up, must quite simply be pulling his hair out.
I predicted a 0-0 today and I’d have taken that.
But to have played so well in the first half and still end up drawing?
That’s a massive 2 points dropped, whichever way you look at it.
There are plus points in that we showed that we can do it.
But we have to show more resilience if we’re going to get to the play-offs.
Lansbury looked ok and that’s another plus.
Along with us retaining our home record.
Oh, we got two goals too.
But I’m still massively disappointed.

Tony Morley praised him as often under-rated during the game, for the same reasons.
While I’ve called him sometimes, so I’ve mostly supported him.
He’s a trier, imo.
But simply not good enough.
But I could say that about most of the team.
Langford, I can only apologise.
Giddy had exactly the same problem, which we never resolved, after some effort.
The only solution was to go to another mail provider.
Even a Yahoo/google account will work, as long as it’s not your existing one.

Bruce made a joke about signing the next Henry on loan this week. Now clearly the next Henry being a joke, but I wonder if we’re really signing a striker on loan. Wouldn’t be a bad move I guess, though we need someone of actual quality, as if they’re another mediocre youth player, we could just play our academy.

Some media reports are criticising Bruce for ‘his measly £6m offer for Rhodes’ whereas they should really be asking questions over RDM’s support of a £12m fee for McCormack (30) to Rhodes (26).
Despite JV’s claims – which are wildly inaccurate – Bruce has been a canny operative in the transfer market and has not overpaid to acquire players nor has he been profligate.
Hopefully we have seen the end of Villa overpaying in the transfer market for poor players or for those past their ‘best before’ date – that’s not to say he won’t make mistakes but I suspect they will be less costly than those we have seen over the last ten years.
steve bruce had to take a hard stance with RM, i think many of us would have gone further. RM is taking the pi $$. out of the club and his fellow players and fans. what kind of example is he giving with his stupidity.bruce had no choice but to take the line he has. otherwise other sheep would have folow RM example. hopefully we will get a desperate offer for him and we can sell. anybody else think this behavior is conveniently manufacturing a move away. hes not dumb is he. he knows he aint gonna fit in so causes a rift and gets another move.

What happens is when you use a new mail address, the system sees you as a new user.
And any new user goes immediately into moderation (even subsequent posts) until one of us approves you.
Now i’ve approved you, you SHOULD be ok.
One other thing I’ve noticed, is that you and Giddy both had Gravatar in common.
I think you’re going to have to drop that and start the rigmarole again if it still doesn’t work.

I’m NOT ITK but everything I heard from this guy has been 100% accurate regarding every transfer in the last 12 months….I think he has a connection with the people who arrange/conduct the medicals….but thats just a guess if mine though. He certainly has inside information of a sort.

I don’t see any of the championship clubs having the money, unless we’re talking a loan.
But Burnley and more likely Sunderland might be willing to make us a decent offer.
I’m guessing this has come from his agent and it suggests he definitely wants out.
Mind you, if it’s true that he misses his friends in london, I can’t see him wanting to move further north.
