Villa 1-0 Swansea; very much as expected

It would seem I was right to try and underplay things, having listened to that game.
We started brightly, but seemingly got worse as the game went on. Which figures. They’re the same players.

But having only listened to it on AVTV, which is very more factual, it’s hard to gauge any nuances or opinions as to how we actually looked as a side.

Here, I could use your opinions.

Smith brought Bolasie on for Elmo and then Hourihane for Grealish, which is probably very similar to what Bruce would have done, imo.

So basically Smith changed little and used the game to look at our weaknesses.
What could he have seen?
I don’t have a clue, apart from the fact that we simply can’t keep up a winning mentality.
This is what Smith needs to instill, imo.

Still, I can’t complain too much.
We won and that’s what it’s all about.

Norwich are in decent form and we don’t have a good record there recently. I will be surprised if we win this one. It’s maybe too early to see a real improvement. We will get better though, and we will soon be challenging the teams in the promotion and play off spots.

I’m going to forecast a draw, but I’m really not confident.

Villa 1-0 up and playing with some common sense. For some reason quite fancy them in this one.

Up at half time and we’re competing all over the pitch. We even look like we have a shape!

Fingers crossed we can keep it up.

So we lost but it was a battling performance and at least we look like we’ve at last got a shape. I can see some progress and that’s all we can hope for this early into a new manager’s reign.

    Better things undoubtedly to come.

      Indeed, Pat.
It’ll be reflected in the next post.
