The Mirror has published a story that claimed that Aston Villa were still interested in Japanese midfielder Kiyotake. It was revealed that Nuremberg had rejected a bid in July for the Japanese midfielder, and it was claimed that the club demanded £10 million for the young attacking midfielder. However, like expected, Aston Villa will have to ship out a host of players before they can buy. Given, Stevens, Bent, Bannan, Delfouneso, Hutton and Ireland have all been told to find a new club. Until a few of these players are sold, Villa won’t buy the much needed attacking midfielder. As reported on Aston Villa New’s and Views, I believe that the attacking midfielder will be Wijaldum, but we shall see. Kiyotake is a good player, scored 4 goals and had 10 assists last season.
Caughtoffside have claimed that there is a new club chasing Darren Bent, newly promoted side Crystal Palace are rumoured to be interested in Bent. Bent is desperate to leave Aston Villa and so far Newcastle and Fulham have been drawn away due to the asking price of £6 million. It appears as though Palace would be content in meeting Villa’s asking price, however, Bent would have to agree to take a massive pay-cut and it remains to be seen if the forward would be interested in joining Crystal Palace. Palace have some money, they won the Play-0ffs and they still have some money from the Zaha deal. It would be some coup of Crystal Palace could bring Bent to Crystal Palace Park.
Whoever gets Bent will certainly get a massively motivated player – out of the bomb squad he is the only one who has expressed his desperation and is pushing for a move so that he can get game time. Only question is will that added motivation drive him to work harder and run outside of the 12 yard box for his new team or at 29 yrs is he too set in his ways to change even with the best will??
Hopefully, Bent leaves and has a domino effect on the rest of the bomb squad as at the moment they’re all probably tightly knit
Given isn’t shit Lionheart, he just isn’t good as Guzan right now (and probably not for the foreseeable future).
You missed the overall point if the post Foxy.. Which was that if all the above had performed they would still be in the team.. High wage or not..
Which is a plus..
I think we will be in for an AM this season and from next with a settled squad we can add a quality player each window to a position PL sees fit to strengthen..
