Roll on the start of the season. At least we’ll know who’s in and who’s out for definite.

All of this speculation is getting a bit tiring already and we’ve still got weeks to go.

Another season of bottom 5 fuck all to look forward to. I really think we will go down next year especially if benteke goes. Just can’t see us staying up with the players we’ve got plus the ones we are being linked with are just bargain basement dross

just a bit of speculation here, if the club have granted “exclusivity” to a third party in view of buying the club, does this mean all assets(i.e.players) of the club are frozen until either the sale of the club or rejection of the deal. in the meantime who is running the club?who can sanction transfers? (Richards was a free) this is giving the press a field day in speculation.anybody with info on company law to give us a heads up.

Now that’s a decent shout Billy Boots, I had wondered what happened on sale of club and buying players, all this speculation has to be shite reporting, anyone buying would need to be involved in some way, I would think.

with all this speculation in the press i would think any club would of responded in some way, mind you i am from a time when you never knew who the chairmen were of any club, and newspapers reported news not what they invented in there minds.

Hi Billy, it’s a good question. I suspect that one of the reasons Villa are (apparently) holding out for the release clause and not interested in a player exchange is that contractually they would not be able to avoid selling (if a club offered £32.5m) and that would have to be accepted by the buyer. There is no reason during due diligence why the buyer and seller can’t discuss and agree on strategic decisions that may vary from the financial plans already declared.

one other question in my head, if the release clause is triggered by Liverpool it gives them the right to speak with him ,if i can remember from the distant past doesn’t it give other teams the right to speak to him also? i know in this day its all been arranged through the agent beforehand

Yes. Not only can other clubs talk to the player but they will be encouraged to do so by the Selling club, because if two clubs are interested a higher bid than the trigger price may be needed.

Google translate is a bit rough but we’ve reportedly made a bid for 19 year old Oğulcan Cağlayan.

His son was one of the 3 players sacked by the club a couple of weeks ago wasn’t he? So not really a surprise…

Pearson’s achievement was immense. That said, he is quite an abrasive character. Maybe with their Prem status assured they have been talking to other managers, feeling they could do better. Strong rumours of him being sacked before the end of last season. Something clearly went on there

“Abrasive character…” – the guy seems to be a bigger head-case than ‘Psycho’ Stuart Pearce!

I think he was brilliant in keeping Leicester in the premier league, and that they’re going to struggle to find a replacement; wonder what odds on Lambert ending up there?

You wouldn’t mess with Pearson. He is a big unit. Yes Mr Pearson from me!
