I suppose on the plus side he’s an upgrade on Kozac and will be good experience in the dressing room

He’s overweight, shit and playing in the championship for a reason. He is never in a million years an upgrade for Kozak.
Absolute joke signing IMO and one that confirms hoofball is the only plan under lamberk

Problem is it means lamberk is here to stay. Bottom line is we still lost at home yet again by an arsenal team who played in first gear and only had 2 chances but we still lost. Holt is an upgrade on mosaic or at worst a sideways move. We just need an older head in the dressing room and I think he will score more than kozac. Not ideal I know but this is our level now we have to accept it until Lerner goes no choice

To be fair, we never let em get out of 1st gear in 2nd half. Best side to visit VP so far this season. Decent atmosphere even in the trinity corporate 🙂 so forgive my spelling as im a tad pissed. Most of the ground applauded at 90mins. what I hated most about tonight was every arsenal player threw himself to the ground whenever we broke em down.

JAYDEE…Grant Holt makes perfect sense whilst Kozak is out. Get over it! Now for a LB and AM.
Fuck off Lerner, the Villa is OURS

AYE, COMMON SENSE EXISTS! Kozak was our back up to Benteke when he was injured… Kozak’s out for the season, now what happens when Benteke gets injured? Oh that’s right… We HAVE NO ONE. Helenius wouldn’t be played and Bowery’s garbage in front of goal (though his overall play isn’t too bad to be fair to him). Holt is a decent signing. No where near as good overall as Kozak, but a decent signing.

Proud of the lads second half TBF. Grant Holt makes sense short term! Bacuna MOM for me. Passing alot better second half. As I predicted, wasnt as easy for Arsenal as many thought it would be. Is Baker one of those unlucky players? He seems to be jinxed. Feel for him as he is a real warrior, never shirks anything.
    Bring on the Scousers!

I thought bacuna played well, the second half was the best i have seen this season from Villa

The ref was awful, he had a shocker.

We need a LB and a LM and an AM.

Nath you say he can’t even get into the Fulham side.. Grant Holt can’t get into the effing Wigan side yet your happy with him.. you have totally contradicted your own defnce on the subject..

We have Benteke Bowery and Helenius.. Gabby and Weiamnn.. fourof those players he has brought or given contrcat extentsions too.. why the hell do w eneed a fat old guy for.. if anythign it shows PL’s failings IF he can’t utitlise the FIVE he has already and he signed or kept them ALL…

This is getting beyond a joke and yet people are still saying it is ok..

I would rather have NO ONE then Grant Holt.. Holts Bowery Helenius wages would all add up to 35K plus.. so you have to start questioning the manager and what his game plan is..

The football is dire.. one cross and hoofs after that are just clouding everyones judgement.. it has bene that bad that a bit of heart and we are ALL suddenly proud of the team for showing effort.. give me a break..

Lerner needs to give us some answers and sharpish..

Does anyone actually enjoy watching the Villa anymore? It’s 90 minutes of angst which almost always ends in you wondering why you’ve wasted your time and money.

Lamberk’s solution to our problems: Grant Holt- I’m lost for words.
What has this club come to, speaks volumes that under pressure Lamberk’s only solution is to look at ex Norwich players- he’s lost the plot completely

Well if proof was ever neede to show Lerners greed and total disregard for Villa it’s Grant Holt Wes Hoolahan. A team of cheap cheap bargain championship and league 1 players. Even the most staunch Lerner support can not blame Lambert now. Lerner out.

you should always be prepared for the worse, yes Kozak broke a leg but what happens if Benteke does, we get Holt … thats the problem …

But as I just posted I can see the reasons why this is not happening

Why not offer West Ham £3.5m and Darren Bent for Ravel Morrison? It is a win for Villa and West Ham but not Fulham

we wont average 35k next season if we continue to play the way we do even if we stay up. the only reason the crowds are decent is because of the ST’s sold pre season on the wave of optimism due to out finish and keeping tekkers, that wont happen this summer should we continue the way we are, ST sales will be much, much lower. that the main reason McLeish got the boot, too many people weren’t prepared to pay for another season of that and learner knew it, same might happen this summer.
this theory that benteke is playing shite in order to force a move is crap, think about it, on his current form nobody is interested in buying him, he hasn’t been linked with a single club despite several title and honours chasing teams being in desperate need of one where as if he was playing well like last season he’d currently be linked with loads of clubs and we’d be wondering if we could hold on to him till the end of the season. playing shite on purpose is going to do the opposite of forcing a move which is currently clearly demonstrated plus he’s got to be falling way down the pecking order for Belgium in a WC year. I find it hard to explain his seeming lack of enthusiasm though.

I’m not sure why anyone is confused by the Holt story. Our tactics are hit long then defend maniacally until a defender or the goalie can kick long and repeat. the players between the defence and long ball receivers are the advance defence, there to soften the blow for the defenders and/or goalie to get the ball to hoof it up to the strikers to lose. An attacking midfielder is pointless, what we need are a couple of extra, tall, strikers.

On a more serious note, why don’t Donacien and Helenius go out on loan? They’re clearly on the bench to look pretty, and Helenius in particular is never going to get chosen over any of the other strikers. They both seem ready to start playing grown up football so why not ship them out to the championship or league 1 and get them some competitive game time. They both have something to prove, give them a chance. Donacien is behind Herd (a midfielder) and Lowton (a RB) in the pecking order and presumably if they are both injured people like Albrighton and KEA would get to play CB before he gets a chance. Let’s not even talk about Helenius, who knows what he’s done wrong.
