Tom Hanks reiterates his love for the Villa and the Spurs game

Well, to be honest, I’m not even sure Tom Hanks has reiterated his love for Aston Villa.

I’d suggest the Yahoo article is just a re-hash of the previous stuff that he mentioned, in that he just likes the sound of the name.

Which is fair enough, I suppose, as it is unlike anything else in the game, something else I like about us as a club.

No United, City or Town for us; that’s far too common and a club such as ours deserves better anyway, in my opinion.

So Tom sort of promises to come to a game, but probably won’t.

He’d be pretty disappointed if he did, as the stadium apart, the area is pretty depressing (apologies to people who live there, but I could say the same about Erdington, where I live).

Anyway, the previous is just space filling.

The way I see it is every time we get linked to Tom Hanks, it has to be a good thing. He has a fan base that dwarfs the Villa and indeed, most footy clubs, simple as.

So it’s good advertising for us.

Why he hasn’t been offered a free, all expenses paid VIP trip to watch a game is beyond me, but what do I know?

That’d be great advertising.

Whatever, things are warming up with the Yids game approaching.

Will Benteke start?

Is he even in the frame?

Last I read is, he’s sort of fit.

If so, he has to start, in my opinion. He’s just too good to sit on the bench.

If he’s 50-50, just leave him out and get him fully sorted.

Personally I reckon he’s ok if the Belgian squad’s celebration video is anything to go by.

Can we win this?

My head says no, but my heart says yes.

I didn’t see Yid’s game against West Ham, but I did see West Ham-Hull and WH  aint no big deal.

Hence if they can beat Spuds, we should at least be able to get a draw at home.

And there’s the problem.

We’re at home, where we look hopeless.

To be honest this Tom Hanks connection is embarrassing. He only likes us because 1) he wants to sound connected to the UK when promoting a film and 2) he thought we sounded like a nice spa

It almost a cringe-worthy as Usain Bolt trying to get a trial at Manchester United with Sir Alex.

We have plenty of famous fans out there, what Nigel Kennedy done at the proms in his Villa Shirt with Acorns on the front is x100 what Tom Hanks will ever do for Villa.

If hanks wanted to promote his film in the ok he would have gone with a trendy team like chelski etc. At the end of the day he has fans world wide and every time he mentions villa people in third world countries who have only heard of utd etc will google us and made aware what a great history we have. Nothing wring with hanks championing us makes a please t change than jumping on utd bandwagon and being a plastic fan

Why didn’t Prince William choose a ‘trendy club’?

Its no more than any yank says and does, is ‘gee I love you accent’ are you British, no doubt will be well surprised the day he comes, its not a vacation place like it sounds. He should take time out and read and see the Villa and our history, nice though to have another high profiled person on our side.

No such thing as bad publicity. Every time he mentions our name even if insincere it’s still global advertising for the club.

Too right mate, main thing with spuds for me though is the gulf between us now. We should be challenging them in the league and theyre miles away now, years ahead
