Since I posted last week the revelation of the £90 Million share investment has got a lot of fans wondering what it is.
At the time the great David Conn from the Guardian said he would look into it and I am sure he will. However not one single local journo has replied back to me. Tonight Tom Ross interviewed Faulkner who said things were improving but Tom never asked him about it.
Why the silence ?
Apparently Mat Kendrick said it was ‘housekeeping’ but that is not correct and I don’t believe he has asked the club the right questions ?
Why not ?
Given tonights news with Holt it is clear we are not spending in this window. Now I could rant and rave about that but no point because I believe bigger things are going on. this £90M is deeply significant for how the club will be run in the future and yet silence from the club.
If I was a journo I would want to know what is happening and why we are forced to go for Wigan players on the bench on loan, it does not get lower than that (forget the player). People laughed at West Ham getting Roger Johnson this is just as bad.
I do believe and my conviction on this is getting stronger that this £90M represents a large shift behind the scenes at Villa. I said for a long time the belt tightening was a plan for Randy’s exit and hoping to hang on in the PL at the same time.
Stan Collymore today repeated the line about Red Bull. Now he is just repeating a well trod rumour BUT he has brought it into a wider audience.
I ask myself if the silence is due to movements soon, the journo’s have the story but asked to keep quiet.
Otherwise why not ask the question ?

Well i read on one forum that the 90m stuff was merely “paper shuffling” Ian. Make of that what you will be you’re right the silence has been rather defeaning since you let the cat out of he bag. And with this Red Bull stuff cropping up once again you start to put two and two together and…? If there’s no money spent this month then Randy must be very close to selling, what other excuse can there possibly be?
who said it was paper shuffling ?
Whoever said has no bloody idea, any link to it ?
Yeah Ian this is the link >>> http://www.astonvilla.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=55606&start=18
So there’s no chance it was “paper shuffling”? if the 90m was to clear debts then does that indicate that Randy is clearing house before he sells?
cheers
so when JF said
It is typical of the shit stirring style of the author to be honest, no facts, open up the info and interpret it how he chooses.
You’ll find that nothing is happening, as above, it is paper shuffling.
There will be more info in the not too distant future to clear this up so it doesn’t now become yet another ‘thing’.
=================================
Firstly of course it is not shit stirring it is factual context and secondly this is the same line Kendrick had, Faulkner has been busy !
I repeat again as confirmed by two different accountants this is NOT ‘paper shuffling’ , ‘tidying the decks’ whatever bollocks they want to come out with.
They just before Xmas lifted the cap on the shares and we speculated why and then found out £90M have been purchased, that is REAL money and it is all GOOD news …
In fact would it not be great for the club to announce that Randy has done this and paid off £90M of debt, think of the good reaction to it ?
So why now are the club still silent on this and telling people ‘paper shuffling’ when it is clearly not that ?
You’re right it all sounds fishy Ian. The man who you quoted claimed the club would bring clarity with some kind of “statement” but since then it’s just been silence.
If it’s only loans this month then one wonders if transfer stopped have been banned due to someone looking at the club?
Interestingly someone posted this on another blog…

The rumours just keep on coming with each day that passes.
it does but as we know a lot of these are wind up’s depends on that forum how that kind of comment is treated.
I am past dealing with rumours to be honest and just look at the facts as we know it. When you look at what we know and what we see, then I conclude we are being sold (note not up for sale) and remember at the Browns the takeover there happened very quickly. The difference is that the set up was different here and they had to declare the 90M.

Grant Holt’s agents confirm he has signed for Aston Villa.
Lambert has changed tact. Instead of young and hungry he is going for old and very hungry.
Nath on loan i hope??
lmao don’t panic
loan until end of season / its just insurance we av a target man / plus i believe he will add far more character 2 the dressing room ~ might be more aswell stoke are near a loan deal with city 4 a striker so that might push the ireland deal through
More money of the wage bill Nath, for Lerners Burgers and Faulkners Greggs pasties…
Oh well that’s a boost to the ranks for the liverpool game im feeling more & more confident we’ll stuff em.LOL 😀
i am more happy with second half ~ pool will be another tough or even tougher test ~ but benteke is the key if we can get him 2 play again we will av no worries ~ bacuna is improving now hes been asked 2 play midfield ~ its ok reducing wages for squad players that aren’t playing but again this season aston villa players are lacking in experience,
i like burgers and pies but i love us 2 get 2 midfielders b4 deadline
18 months into a the ‘new’ project.. four strikers signed.. two others in the squad.. and we are bringing in Grant Holt on loan.. we can all see how the project is going..
actually I look on the Holt deal as a sign that things will change …
the money is there (before the 90M) to actually get the quality required but we are dealing with very short term options now.
Can I speculate as to why ?
Things are changing and why allow long term expensive deals.
Lionheart the word is ‘desperation’mate.
i am aston villa supporter not a spokesperson 4 the club, i am as sad as all villa fans are, my views are just that ~ i hope holt helps keep aston villa up, i understand that his wigan spell wasn’t fruitful and hes 3o plus but hes got a final crack at premier~ its horses for courses ~ no risk he is back up and example 2 younger strikers ~ if he does get a game or 2 he will be a handful i av seen him a few times and he certainly is physical and players feed of him
Nath ‘they can feed off him’ there’s enough there to get you through winter mate.feed a family of 4 you could.
Lol @Giddy
lol cannibalize him burgers alround
Signing Holt is ridiculous. Has to be the worst signing in the history of the premier league and all for what? Two goals against championship sides.. sorry Lambert but you already lost to them. If we wanted an experienced striker, oh I don’t know… lets see… oh that’s right we have Bent out on loan who scored premier league goals in bags for years. But hey I guess Lambert is a stupid, useless, arrogant wanker.
how did everyone rate the referee last nite???
i thought he never gave villa anything only stonewall-er free-kicks in none dangerous areas. plus it took around same time 2 take baker off who was unconscious and rosicky who had a runny nose ~ plus arsenal wanted 2 play on until guzan had the ball and released it up field then they wanted 2 stop play ~ rosicky had treatment on field changed top and was back in b4 game restarted GRRRRRRRRRRRR ok he was ltr subbed with injury runny nose

Manchester City have now confirmed John Guidetti has joined Stoke on loan.
the ireland transfer should go through
15:01
In order to sign John Guidetti, Stoke had to end one of their other Premier League loan deals and that has been achieved by signing Stephen Ireland permanently from Aston Villa
now irelands gone a midfield spot is vacant Lewis Holtby is available 2 loan hes the type albeit lacks premier experience but he oozes class and vision
