It’s beginning, Ron Vlaar is linked with moves away from Villa Park. Vlaar has been called up and has featured in all 3 of Netherlands World Cup games. In each 3 games he has impressed and has been an absolute rock at the back. Now, we should be supporting Vlaar since he really is Villa’s best representative at this years World Cup. But, with Vlaar’s contract expiring next season and no really progress made towards extending his contract, I’m sure that some Villa fans (like myself) are beginning to worry that we might lose our captain and best defensive player.
QPR is the first team linked with Ron Vlaar, honestly QPR appear to be linked with anyone so I wouldn’t look too much into it. Besides, joining QPR would be a step down. The biggest fear could possibly be from Manchester United, Luis Van Gaal is a fan of Vlaar and he might be tempted to bring Vlaar to Manchester United. Other big teams may also want to swoop in for Vlaar.
More worryingly, Senedros doesn’t look like a good squad player. He really struggled against France when he played for Switzerland. Worse, most Fulham fans have said that Senderos was always their worst player. With Aston Villa’s current position, we can’t afford to lose Vlaar, just imagine if a replacement isn’t brought in. Okore partnered up with Senedros/Clark/Baker.
There have been reports that Vlaar doesn’t feel wanted at Villa after the club failed to offer him a new deal and has recently criticised Aston Villa’s drinking culture. I think he’s slowly becoming fed up, he knows that he is aging and may look into taking the opportunity to move to a ‘big’ club while his stock is high. If he does decide to stay at Villa, the club will have to offer him a massive pay increase.
I would say if UTD come in for him he’s gone LVG will be given a substantial kitty & will be poaching for most of the Dutch internationals around Europe.we are a club in limbo with no direction capped wages so what the FUCK could we offer him????
Who would blaim him? Oohah might, but honestly tell me how interesting is life at Villa park, anyone that’s had a few seasons are glad to go, we do need people that have interest in owning and running Villa, and not what we have now. Time will tell its going to be very tough to be a Villa fan in today’s world.

I personally think he’ll stay. I think he might be fed up with the drinking culture but I don’t think a move will be on his mind, unless it’s a step up, like European football step up. Yes United’s linked, but they won’t go for him. Van Gaal’s not really a long term manager, but he’ll look to set up United for the future, while still looking to win trophies and at Vlaar’s age, he needs to play with a few good young Dutch CB’s, he’ll wanna make it at least to the Euros, if not the next World Cup so playing is 100% going to be his priority.
Honestly while people are worried, and yes clubs will be linked, I don’t think there’s too much worry that clubs will be interested as at his age, he’ll still cost a pretty penny to Villa and I do think he’ll be offered a new contract even if we don’t get taken over.

Honestly I’d be shocked if Lerner allows the sale of anyone under him, as that could annoy any potential buyer as he sells one of Villa’s best players behind their back. Think any movement out would be the lesser’s like Helenius, Sylla etc, and if there was a big offer for a bigger player, he’d wait.

I think vlar is off after the world cup if he keeps playing well then his stock will be high and with only 1 year left on his contract lerner will cash in, he is a good defender and we will not give him the wages he will feel he deserves but other clubs will so unfortunately he will be off to man u or QPR or whoever is willing to pay the goin rate for him.
