Well, I’ve thought more about the Leeds game and still think we were very average at best.
No, I’m going to say it as it is and say we were poor.
I suggested in the previous comments section that it looked like a men against boys game (with us looking like the men, if you weren’t sure) and some of the ratings I’ve seen on certain sites look well over the top.
My opinion says a better side would have beaten Leeds by four or five goals, no problem; they looked that poor.
Let me say, before you criticise me for being far too harsh, we were the better side and I do understand that we’ve had a gruelling schedule.
But surely that applies to every club in the Championship?
Then consider Leeds had around ten players out, as opposed to us having the vast majority of our squad available.
Still, none of this matters and I’ve always said that performances don’t matter; Points do.
We took all three and while it might seem that I’m complaining, I’m really not.
We got what was required and after a bit of a respite, move onto Ipswich, which I suspect will be a much tougher test.
And then I’m seeing reports that West Ham want £12.3 million or so for Robert Snodgrass.
How on earth do they justify that sort of money, when as much as David Moyes might want him, West Ham’s owner’s seemingly don’t?
Snodgrass was bought by West Ham as a Premier league player and didn’t cut it, at the end of the day. Ok, it might have been a personal thing, but it’s why he was loaned out to us, a Championship club. We were probably the only ones willing to pay his wages, in truth.
Don’t get me wrong, Snodgrass has done really well for us at this level.
And it’s that last bit that really counts.
As much as I like him, his cheating apart, the price is vastly inflated and there’s no way we’ll pay it even if we do manage to get promoted.
£5 million and add-ons is much more realistic, if you consider his age.
And if we don’t get promoted, just forget the whole idea, even at that price.
The concern will be more about which of our gems we have to flog off, let alone any we retain or bring in.

To think that one day he could be back where he was loved would be mouth watering. Deep down would he come back…. who knows. You always remember your first love and he never left under a cloud like some of the others did in the likes of Delph and Downing.
Who knows if the Doc would see that as an opportunity as Kodja does seem a bit injury prone, but it may only happen if we get in to the the PL.
This would depend a lot on the transfer cost and wages. If we could afford him and he is happy to come back and play regular football in front of an adoring fan base then money is not everything, which was a mistake I think him in leaving in the first place.
On another note I can see the end of the season going right to the last game, but whatever happens and regardless of if we go up or not this has been a great league this year, and we have at times played a part in making it enjoyable with still 3 games to go.

Rocky1, no doubt, its brought the love of the game back to me, its just a shame that our young fans never seen the likes of 82, and games that got us there.now’s the chance of seeing the future of our great club over the next decade , its a problem for people of my age we can only wish and dream. As for Benteke I’d give him that chance because as you’ve pointed out McCormack, was a disaster to us Kodja is unsafe in a team that’s going for gold.
Bill, the early 80’s team was the most successful, but Sir Ron’s team with Gray, Little and Deehan were more entertaining. If they had the same back four as the early 80’s team we would have won more trophies. Also Big Ron’s team was for a short while very entertaining. Since then however apart from Little and Gregory we have been mostly poor. Regarding Benteke I don’t expect to ever see him playing for us again. His career has gone downhill when he should be competing with Lukaku for Belgium. He has all the ability but obviously lacks something.
grealish starred in the pool beating at wembley. yeah he never scored,but that day he tormented pool like he has been doing to the championship. he buzzes around drawing opposition around him, which makes space for others. i red that hes only come about here in championship thats not true. he has always had the ability. its true he has been more consistent and more fitter. that has to go down to the coaches and manager and of course the player himself.
benteke is a beast of a player. but he needs feeding. 100% of fans moan about the feeding which needs wingers crossing means your lightweight in midfield,
we need to take stock end of season and if we get a new manager. he has to have time to change the style and he needs to bring in his own players, get shut of the shit we have in stock. bruce has done the groundwork for the next manager. its just boils down to picking the right guy who will hopefully play the right style,
i think the brenford manager has proven himself. i have watched his teams try to play decent football. they don’t just pass it around aimlessly they work the ball around at pace, they play out from the back and if needed will go long. everybody wets them self over fulham. but brentford didnt just take the game to fulham on their patch, they dominated them. created better openings. when fulham scored and it looked like they would and should finally stamp they game on brentord, they couldnt because brentford worked another great opening and scored a very well worked goal.
if we go up this season, then massive decisions need to be made. bruce would deserve the chance to lead us into premiership. but should he. i am supposedly his biggest fan, i dont think he can cope in premiership. would be a massive kick in the balls from the club to sack him after promotion. then if they did we would need a bigger manager than smith, but either way we needs a change. the next manager should be given years not weeks or months we should stick with him.
Is anyone monitoring the Millwall game and Fulham. ? Milwall been unlucky not to be 2 up first half, it’s now close as halftime just been blown.
I saw the first disallowed goal and it looked like the attacker was trying to climb a ladder, the way he got on the defender’s back.
Rightfully disallowed, imo.
millwall have played well first half. but 2 mistakes by their goalie and they are 2 nil down. and havent turned out second half.
No stoppng Fulham unfortunately..id rather play Cardiff in the playoffs anyway.
That’s it turned it off, all on the play offs now.
Defeat for Millwall probably will cost them playoffs. They are away to Middlesbrough next. Personally I would rest our best players tomorrow and play fringe players and kids. Only takes a couple of injuries and there will be no time to recover for playoffs.
