It is being reported by the Mirror that Tim Sherwood will need to one at least one of the next two games if he want’s to save his job. Meaning that Villa need to pick up 3 points against either Chelsea or Swansea. A defeat against Swansea at home will most likely cost Sherwood his job.
Randy Lerner will not be so patient with Sherwood, as he was with Lambert and understands that losing that Premier League TV money is something that Aston Villa, and Lerner can not afford. Another factor to Sherwood’s warning is our performances against teams that would most likely finish around us. Draws to Sunderland, defeats to Stoke and Leicester is not what most fans expected at the start of the season.
Another factor as to why Sherwood might get sacked, is due to the increasing high profile managers available right now. Rodgers is now available, and so is Lucien Favre who had previously managed Borussia Monchengladbach but recently stepped down. Villa might also look to bring David Moyes back into the Premier League. These managers have more experience than Sherwood and might relish the challenge of managing Aston Villa.
It’s believed that Rodgers is a key target for Aston Villa already, and is favoured by Villa’s chief scout Paddy Reilly who has gained more power at Aston Villa since arriving during the Martin O’Neil era.
With Sunderland recently appointing Sam Allardyce, it does put more pressure on Aston Villa. Allardyce is a good manager and massively increases Sunderland’s chance of survival. Right now, we look as a relegated team, and defeats to both Chelsea and Swansea would be simply too much for Aston Villa. The managers available right now are of better caliber than Sherwood, but at that time, he was the best out there.
If this is the case Sherwoods good as gone I can’t see us getting diddly out the next 2 games,as for Rodgers possibly long term but to make an immediate impact not so sure.I think Sherwood knows his days are numbered & I can’t see any dramatic improvement coming if shabbys fit Saturday he’ll be starting fucking geeeez
Then I really hope we lose the next 2 games, and hope he isn’t a Lamberk type where Lamberk used to put together a mini run of 2 or 3 games that used to save him his job.
And I say that because if we do manage to get points out of the next 2 games, it will save him his job, but then we will then go on another run of winless games with poor football and shocking tactics, player selection and subs.
And if he dares start Shabby next game….
I’m all for Rodgers or Moyes, just want this fraud out of Villa park ASAP.
Sherwood has done himself no favours, pre season is about getting a settled system and the personnel to fill it, not done! You can’t get 10 games in and not know this, a team needs to know where it is and have a settled line up.
Don’t throw games away by naive subs and tactical changes, not done!
Don’t play players who are bang out of form and not doing a lot in a game, not done! It’s a shame coz I think he could be good if he stops shooting himself in the foot. Also if he stops sacrificing they way he likes to play from the start of the game, go out and try to win.
Would also love to know the point of Ray Wilkins, can’t see his influence at all because of the naive mistakes.
I for one hope he is success coz I like him and think you could get in any manager at the moment and they won’t fix it quick!
Whilst a change of manager is desperately needed nothing will really change. With the owner pocketing all the TV money we have no chance regardless of who comes in. I too want Dim out based on results and more so his tactics, or lack of them, and the style he has now introduced (If it is his decision to play the way we do).
Until Lerner fucks off and we get a owner who is genuinely interested in the club instead of just pocketing the TV money nothing will change regardless of who is in charge.

Lucien Favre is a much better coach than Rodgers. Rodgers is decent but when manager’s like Favre and Montella are available, you can’t go for someone like Rodgers first. Be ridiculous that.
Let’s hope Sherwood dosnt do a Lamberk and fluke a win then we are stuck with him. Again all Lerner cares about is staying up its outrageous the club is a joke so is Lerner

I must admit that if it was the choice of Rodgers or Moyes I’d definitely go for Moyes.
He’s more experienced and he knows how to run a successful premier league club on next to nothing. I also think he’ll have a learnt something during his time in Spain and might be in the position to bring players into the club in January from La Liga if needed.
I supported Tim right up until 2 or 3 matches ago but unfortunately have come to the conclusion that we need a change. If he really does need to get 3 points from the next two games they might as well give him his P45 now.

i have supported Tim from the off but the crap i am reading at the moment has been generated by him and his cockney cronies in the press no class and no style in one week he has alienated the players because they wasn’t his choice well tim they are really going to pull tree’s down for you now arnt they. not sure Rogers is the man though all i can remember him for is losing the title.

I can see where Mr Lerner’s coming from, Lambert for all his faults came across as an affable individual the polar apposite to Sherwood’s Mr Big Head persona. That’s all good if the success matches all the bravado but if it don’t then it’s hardly likely to ingratiate him to his employers, hence (imo) the apparent lack of patience from above.
This added to the fact there are a number of quality, experienced managers available at the moment and I’d say the writings pretty much on the wall.
