The first big rumour has emerged regarding a player coming to the Villa and not leaving the club.
Scott Sinclair is being well covered by most sport related outlets as being in advanced talks regarding a loan move to the Villa.
Scott Sinclair moved to Manchester City from Swansea for 6.2M and unfortunately, the club had no intentions of using him on the field as he rarely got a look in before moving to to West Brom for a season loan where he again made very little appearances and virtually no impact.
The true form was while he was at Swansea where he scored 28 goals in 74 league games. If we could bring him in and he recaptured this form, then we would be on to something great, but I have my reservations about these types of signings as they are very much hit an miss.

After our thrilling 0-0 draw at home to Palace he asked for patience from the crowd following booing at half-time and full-time and then after today’s Lambert out chants he says he finds it strange.
My god, he has had it lucky. The only thing I can’t understand is why has it took this long for the home support to turn on him? The hardcore away support turned on him last season and then again this season at Burnley.

Ardent, for the first time in a long time I sat in the Holte today (age has carried me to the Trinity), and it was just awful, this new philosophy of simply going wide when we have no wingers, just shows we are tactically inept, Cleverly, tidy as he is, is in danger of becoming the poor man’s Ray Wilkins, as every pass went square and if this is all down to Lambo’s new initiative then it really is time to panic. I’d have GMac back tomorrow, but I fear Lambert’s ego just won’t have it. Joe Cole was easily the best footballer on the park today, but he is simply too bright for these current “tactics”. Big talented striker, no supply…you don’t have to be Stephen Hawkins to suss that it might cause an issue. 21 thousand today…time for a change I think.

I agree that there needs to be a change. But my own view is that GMac isn’t really the answer – nice guy and all that, and good at reserve team level, I just don’t believe he has ‘it’ [whatever ‘it’ is] for making any impact when dealing with the over-paid/over-pampered modern first-team player once they’re over 19 or 21…
Reading Lambert’s comments on the BBC website earlier, I got the feeling that he genuinely doesn’t understand why fans are complaining, or just staying away: we’re 12th in the league, have reversed last-season’s awful defensive record into one of the best in the division, and surely it’s just a matter of time before we start scoring again! What’s to moan about, and why do they want me sacked?
I suspect that Lerner may take the same naive view.
Only when Lerner realises that virtually every commentator now views Villa’s weekly goal-less ‘performances’ as a sick joke, and when the cameras spend more time showing rows of empty seats in VP than they do the so-called ‘action’ on the pitch, might he find the balls to make a change, but even then I fear he’ll just find another mug of manager rather than someone who could actually do something positive.
I wish that there was something for us all to look forward to in 2015, but my gut feeling is that nothing will change before the end of this season.

i concur cloughs a guy i admire from the burton to present, his teams play some good stuff, be interesting to see him work with better players, cos he can work with low quality ones we have a few of them ourselves
I don’t think we’re thinking the whole selling Benteke thing through. Now before everyone starts calling me crazy hear me out, I love Benteke and along with Westwood he is my favourite player for Villa. However, one of the reasons our performances are so dire as of late is because when our midfielders get the ball they just look for Benteke, and he’s never open because he always has at least 3 defenders marking him. Maybe with Benteke out of the team we’d start seeing better football? Although this is definitely up for debate. I mean we all know he will be leaving us at some point, we at least had better make that on our terms. If we sell him in the summer for say, 30 million, and had all that money to spend.. imagine the investment we could put into players. And without Benteke, we still have the likes of Guzan, Clark, Okore, Westwood and Sanchez to build around. So that’s certainly not a bad start, is it?
As for who we sell Benteke to, I’d much rather see him go off abroad rather than stuck on the bench for City when their strikers come back fit and firing, or lifting Spurs into the top 4, don’t think I could stomach that.
Now while I’d much rather Benteke spend the rest of his career with Villa, we all know that won’t ever happen. All I am saying is, when he leaves it doesn’t have to mean relegation for us, and in fairness to Lambert whenever he has had money he’s spent it wisely. So he does have a good eye for players. Let’s just sit back and see what happens, rather than immediately hit all the panic stations.
How can u say lamberk has spent money wisely. The few half decent players hes signed are usually injury prone and the others are complete dross. Let me put it this way the 2 best pkayers we have this season is clarke and hutton who have NOT been signed by lamberk. As for lamberk getting the £30m for imminent Benteke sale you are living in cuckoo land! Do you seriously think lerner would let him spend that much when there is no need to. Lamberk has proved to lerner he can keep us up on just £10m a season which is good enough for lerner as thats all he wants. Hutton and Clark have been immense, but so has Sanchez, Okore, Westwood, Benteke and Guzan has been as strong as always. They’re all Lambert signings, yes Guzan included as he actually left the club before Lambert brought him back. We can’t say Lerner wouldn’t give Lambert the money to re-invest in the team as none of us can actually know that. However signings like Benteke, Okore, Vlaar, Sanchez, Kozak and even the failed 10 million bid for Tadic last January shows Lerner will put his money if in if Lambert can convince him. Despite all his failings I think Lerner has always had the club at heart, let’s just see where we go.. Ready for the ridicule.
if lerner has the club at heart. he would fast track the clubs safety. this window needs to see villa actively seeking decent midfielders that improve current 1st team options. if he doesn’t trust the manager, then he needs to sack him and back the new guy.
booing and negativity from the fans won’t help the player perform or attract new players to come. so this needs addressing. either lerner or fox needs to address the fans. villa were the third lowest spenders in premiership in summer. that was following a poor season last. so how can debts be increasing, while the spending on transfers and wages be lowering from as far back as mcliesh.
Sanchez has done ok but westwood is rubbish. Okore is good if he can stay fit and Benteke is not the pkayer he used to be and injury prone. He csnt hold a ball up, has missed quite a few chances and still hasnt learnt thd offsude rule
maybe the style switch isn’t suiting benteke strengths. the slow build up and benteke poor movements means hes always well marked. maybe they need to switch between the two styles. i like the passing game,we have adopted, but we don’t have the midfielders to pull it off, benteke seems to be at his best with early balls like the one sanchez played into him, he chested and thumped in.
i heard from a friend man city aren’t interested in spending loads this window so i agree no move this window. i think dzeko needs to be sold first. dire days at villa and foxes are just hitting form last few games
