Red bull takeover rumour rebuffed by Houllier

I’m only putting this up as it seems a few of you were seemingly clinging onto this as our last hope.
It was always a load of rubbish for me, but I can’t blame anyone that dares to dream that things might get better than the sad situation that we currently find ourselves in.

It’s quite simple, in that Gerard Houllier has said straight out that Red Bull have no interest in taking over the Villa;

http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/gerard-houllier-red-bull-not-6560487

Of course, it might all be a smokescreen and I’m very much a believer in conspiracies on the whole.
But I suspect this statement really is the truth.

So it’s back to the utter mediocrity that we’ve seen all season, unless we follow on from the Liverpool game with a similar performance that indicates that we really are progressing.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news guys.

I wouldn’t normally but I feel like a strong push 2 the finish line ~ goals change games and good games can kick start a season ~ pool game was just that self belief was ebbing but beat baggies and we will finish with a sprint again

that Darren bents one hot player bring him back (NOT) I think hes missed a open goal from 9″ out albeit alittle wider than rite in front but with his wages u think he would score from there

plus Fulham boss played a second string and told the press he was concentrating on league so how comes no1 is moaning this point on ere or in the press

It was offside anyway and to be fair other than the goal they scored Fulham created nothing.

I think he will come but they will hold out till last minute. It’s not in their interests to keep him. But like I say it’s not like he’s going to make much if an impact in the team anyway so who gives a fuck

    Lets throw this out there.

remember that (what I think is very stupid) report on the OIS about the Chinese followers on Weibo ?

Well it was a kind of pointless piece, so what if we are 12th, that is nothing to be proud of.

However maybe it was a signal we would be getting Chinese owners ha ha

Now your just being mischievous! Seriously though, there is a lot of money in China looking for overseas investments. Not sure Villa would fit the bill as it would not be a great choice. Given that it appears Far East interest in football appears to be for money laundering (allegedly)rather than investment maybe that’s for the best

given the experience down the road then keep well away … Remeber at any time a chinese billionnaire can lose everything if he falls foul of the govt.

What Ian said… I’ve worked in Japan and China and you would not IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM want a Chinese investor. Yes, they are wealthy, but you’ve got to ask yourself why they are wealthy. And, yes, I am generalising here, but, in my experience of dealing with them, the way they do business… well, nothing about it is comparable with the way we do things in the UK.

The Japanese are a much better proposition, but it would still mean a sea change in the way in which the club is run. ‘Kaizen’ (continuous improvement philosophy) would obviously be welcomed by fans, but maybe not by the people who work within the club and I can’t imagine everyone standing in the car park singing “Holte Enders in the Sky’ every morning before they started work.

If it was the Japanese though, I doubt it would be an individual. Probably a corporation, maybe something like the Nintendo of America takeover of the Seattle Mariners.

Anyhow, it’s probably all a load of ‘Red Bull-unchii” though… Depressing as it is, I can see us being in the land of ‘Lerner Limbo’ for quite some time!

Good points rawlie. I agree and can see us being stuck with Lerner for a few more years at least. I refuse to buy a st now until he’s gone as no point as no exactly what will be happening in next few years.
