Yep, turning down the chance to get Barry on loan for the season was a massive clanger, versatile and experienced, 2 great qualities that we desperately need. The wages excuse is getting very boring now, to compete you have to spend on wages, its a fact of modern football.

You are right turning down barry when Man city were going to pay a chunk of his wages was crazy. The idea that lambert will only sign young players no one has heard of is pure madness i feel like we are just waiting untill he eventually cocks it up completly and we go down.

If we were really offered Barry with part of his wages paid by City and we turned it down then Lambert really is deluded. This obsession with youth has to stop, Barry would have made a world of difference in our stale midfield. He is 10x the player Westwood is and ever will be.

Surely we can get a half decent centre back from Europe who is out of contract immediately ?

I cant believe we are going to have to go the season with Clark/Baker and Vlaar at the back. I doubt we will keep one clean sheet. I’m really trying to think optimisitically, but when you look at the players that have come in, only Luna is now in the first XI.
