Nicklas Helenius’s agent has spoken again in regards to his clients future at Aston Villa. Helenius joined Aston Villa from the Danish League in the summer and has only registered a handful of substitute appearances. He also scored his first goal for the club against Sheffield United in the FA Cup a few weeks ago. The arrival of Grant Holt has jeopardised the Dane’s potential first-team appearances.
Despite not featuring too much for Aston Villa, his agent Mads Buch claims that “Nicklas is happy at Aston Villa”. Paul Lambert has also recently told the press that he believe that Helenius has a part to play for Aston Villa. It’s believed within the training camp that Helenius just isn’t ready for the Premier League.
Having said that, it’s very likely that Helenius could go out on loan for the remainder of the season to get some games under his belt. Ideally in Championship.
“It’s clear that they won’t sell him now. They have said that they believe in him.
“If anything is going to happen then a loan deal is most likely. It is now a question of where Villa want him to develop, at the club or at a lower level.
“He is happy but this is about him being a part of the plans for the remainder of the season. If he’s not in the match squad then it makes sense to give him games at a lower level.” – Helenius’ representative Mads Buch
