Nathan Delfouneso is the latest loan departure, joining Championship side Blackpool on a 6-month loan. Delfouneso spent last season on loan at Bloomfield Road scoring 7 goals in 40 league appearances. Delfouneso was one of the many players that have been put on sale by Aston Villa.
Delfouneso was tipped for big things at Villa Park, despite the Uefa Cup appearances and the odd goal he hasn’t really reached his full potential and has fallen down the pecking order. Additionally, with the arrivals of Bowery and Helenius, the young forward’s chances were even more limited.
Carruthers, Burke and Bent have already been sent out on loan, with Burke already playing 90 minutes for Shrewsbury Town. But the club would like to ship out a few players permanently. This list includes, Given, Ireland, Stevens, Bannan and more.

Agreed but please remember that both he and Bannan are each pulling 20 grand a week. It is ridiculous. It’s not as if either of them did anything to deserve it and I can’t imagine Blackpool will be coughing much of that up.

Yep 20k a week is crazy now, but at the time it was what you had to pay for a promising, up and coming player. He was a good prospect at the time, but never moved up a gear.
Whatever, signing him wasn’t as bad business as giving Bent away, imo.
Good luck to him and hopefully he can start scoring goals. He needs to get himself noticed either way.
