These past few months have been rough, really rough. Aston Villa haven’t won a game in 12 games, and just won two Premier League games all season. Its no surprise why Villa fans aren’t coming to the stadium, why fans aren’t reading as much Villa news, commenting on articles/forums or engaging with the community. There is just nothing to feel.
I will have to admit, that I fully respect, and admire the fans that are still attending home/away matches, still cheering and chanting for the club. There aren’t many football clubs in the world who has that kind of support, or would have that kind of support if their club was in the same situation as Aston Villa. But for most fans, we all know that Villa will lose any game they go into. There isn’t any passion, or even effort from our players at the club. This is why I can’t wait to make relegation, 100% official. Maybe then, Black or the new manager can try new players, maybe bring in some of the youth players into the squad. Just about anything in order to get Villa to play a new and different style of football. Something that fans can be proud to, or at the very least entertained. But more importantly, give the new manager a chance to assess the current crop of players and decide if there is someone to keep for next season.
Against Bournemouth, Villa had zero shots on target in the first half, at home to Bournemouth… In the past there have been instances of some teams playing a little better after relegation was confirmed because it took the pressure of the players. I’m just hoping that by some kind of miracle, the same can occur with Villa, because any kind of positive performance would be much wanted. When Ayew scored his goal against Bournemouth, I had zero emotion, I just didn’t care. And that’s what is upsetting me the most. The fact that the players, team, club, board and the entire management have given up, it has made me, a fan of almost 10 years give up as well. Hopefully things can turn around in a few weeks time
