Agreed, it’s a load of rubbish and I doubt anyone will give this any credence.
It does seem odd how TSF would come out with the comment though.

We always get the same rumour at this time of year, avoid the drop and we will be sold, the only difference this season is we are better off financially – think it is a load of tosh !
If Randy get a decent offer he will sell – But I think that has always been the case, everything is for sale at the right price.

The mirror are reporting that there is possible interest from a Quatari consortium, who were apparently at the Chelsea game. Hmm.

Good ol’ Roman Abromovich wouldn’t sell Chelsea. Probably wouldn’t even talk to the Qatari’s about it.

On the back of those financial results i would have to say that should we stay in the premier league (Which i dont think we will) and with the mad tv money that will be around over the next few years i would say we would be certain to be sold next summer as all the off the pitch stuff now look very good. However weather that would mean we get a new owner who wants to improve what happens on the pitch or mearly take the TV money and make money for themselves off the abck of it i woul not be so sure. At the end of the day the number of people who want to buy a football club and then put huge sums of money that they have taken a life time to build up into it just so they can say we achieved a top 4 position is drying up they just arnt out there any more. I cant see Villa having success untill the whole TV money bubble bursts.

Agreed CB. I have said all along that I can’t see this turning out well. We will get some chancer who cobbles together enough to buy the club and then milks it dry.

Be careful what you wish for.

am i right in thinking even if we get bill gates, because of fair play rules he cant throw millions at villas problem until they generate more income? which is one of the problems of selling a premier league club. i know Lerner was one of the few chairmen to vote against fair play

Sort of. It seems to be that they are trying to prevent club owners from doing inflated sponsorship deals with connected companies, like Man City and PSG have done. With a mix of injecting equity, and doing good commercial deals there is definitely scope for a big improvement. Sponsorship deals are a tricky thing for UEFA to police. How do you decide if a deal is good value or not?

The good thing about FFP is that spending on youth development projects and infrastructure are excluded from the calculations.

indykaila News claims from an Aston Villa source that there are talks regarding Villa ownership.

They aren’t always right but they do pretty well for themselves in terms of news compared to a lot of twitter accounts so it’s possible.

Hmmmm buy a football club in the relegation zone…… no chance.
you either buy it in the Championship at a reduced price or when premiership survival is guaranteed to get the TV money.

I commented before that Lerner could be looking to dilute his ownership rather than sell outright, particularly if dilution Led to an increase in investment. When he sold the Browns he retained 30% I believe for a number of years with (I assume) an option to sell at the end of that period.

Changing tack, just read this on Newsnow. Maybe he will come good after all, and at least Sherwood will want to take a look at him.

I agree I do think he’ll take a look unlike his predecessor who’d more likely just dump him on the bench.its nice to see his performing unlike some we have.

this was one of the hopes i had attached to sherwood arrival, that he would give grealish and gardner a look – honestly comparing gardner to cleverly and westwood and based on previous performances I don’t see a massive risk in playing him at all. and I think he still has quite a bit of potential – he has just lost a lot of ground to injury but delph made up some of that ground – hope gardner can too.
he seems to be taking to the regista role at forrest

Not sure I’d want Bilic after watching today (obviously we have Sherwood but before he came, myself and a few mentioned his name). He’s isolated Ba as bad as Lambert did Benteke. Yes Besiktas look better than us, especially going forward but they don’t create a lot either.

They were up against a better team though called liverpool who they managed to beat over 2 legs.

“better team”, arguable. A tactically inept Liverpool in Europe. And it doesn’t matter that they beat them over 2 legs, he still left Ba incredibly isolated and it took an incredible strike from Arslon to take it to penalties.

Never said he was bad, it just amazes me how isolated and useless Ba was until the 2nd half.
