As we all know Saturdays game was a big low for all AVFC supporters.The atmosphere in the ground was shocking and AVFC supporters should hang your heads in shame as you did not support your club in the first half.
As I sat in my seat in the North all I could hear was Geordies.All game from start to finish singing their hearts out for their team.They put us to shame.The Holte end was silent untill we scored this is not good enough is it.
I left the ground with my voice nearly gone trying to start songs as I heard nothing from the Holte or anywhere else for that matter.The players needed a lift some tired from international duty,some just having a poor game,some left wanting from Lamberts set up IE full backs not having enough protection.
We as supporters did not support properly but Lambert still defended us how and why I don’t know.I think we need to take a leaf out of the Geordies book and sing your hearts out for the lads from start to finish…..
I hear alot of fans saying we needed something to sing about which is utter nonsense you are in the ground to support so support.
Now here’s my other point I think Lambert needs to change up the formation to give the full backs some much needed protection.Both Luna and Lowton looked like fish out of water when it came to handling quick wingers/forwards lacking the knowledge to defend IMPO.
Its no good having a full back who can attack and not defend as concede you will.So Lambert has to change his formation to protect the full backs as they learn how to defend better.
I think it is much to early to judge Lambert this season but I think he needs to change the home set up.We need to look to boss the game at home,attack and not counter and actually look like the home side.You can’t let teams play football and not close them down properly as they will break you down and eventually score.This was evident against Liverpool and now was evident against Newcastle.
Lambert has to change his home philosophy or we will struggle I fear.I normally try to find positives and think if I can notice what is wrong so can other supporters and so can Lambert to.
It isn’t rocket science support your club start to finish as the lads need the vocal support to make their hairs on the back of their necks stand up with pride.This gives them confidence which will then be transferred onto the pitch.We all have to chip in Lambert included we all love the VILLA heart and soul actions speak louder than words…..UTV
