I’m hoping to see Helenius playing tomorrow. It’s a big shame about Kozak, he was dropped straight in it and I don’t think we saw him at full steam. IIRC he didn’t get much game time at his previous club outside of the Europa League and it would have been interesting seeing him playing between Albrighton and another decent crosser of the ball.

Am I right in thinking Bowery has only once played as a striker, and that was the Palace match where he had a shot or header on target and about the only one in some time? He’s come on before on the right wing but it seems it’s not his natural position. I know a lot of people here slag him off but have we seen enough of him as a striker to justify that?

HBowery holds the ball up well, he lays it off and judging by that header with the right service can find the goal. Bowery suits the hoof ball we play. Don’t understand why people hate him so much he is another Grant Holt IMO. I put it down to people finding another reason to dislike Lambert I have boo’d at matches recently but even I find the jeers he gets hard to swallow just another young man learning his trade who has not been given a chance. I don’t like Lamberts tactics or the dross at VP atm but I am not going to take it out on a young man who is played out of position by our clueless manager. Its rude at best

real shame for kozac, poor guy.
bowery? the only bit ive seen of bowery(which is not much tbf)he’s looked very poor sorry to say, hellanius ive seen more of but mostly from pre season where he looked promising, you’d have to think the only reason he’s not getting game time is because he’s not impressing during training because there’s been plenty of opportunities especially with wiemanns form hopefully we may get to see him put in 90 mins tomorrow.
despite the injury to kozac I hope it doesn’t get missed now that we still need strength in midfield desperately.
apparently the bookies now have us as favorites to sign Ashley young at 6-1, what the bookies say is usually firmer than any rumours in my experience. although I still doubt this as young seems to be featuring far more regularly of late for united and they are light in this area too, I doubt they’d be selling tbh.
who ever we get in loan or otherwise I seriously hope it will not deract from the obvious additions we all know we need.

More likely Helenius has been sidelined for daring to moan that he’s not happy about not playing, imo.

As for trying out periperal figures, I’m not convinced we’d learn that much about them against the likes of Sheffield Utd.
They need minutes in the Prem.

As for Guidetti, I’ll believe it when I see it.
Even if Citeh pay half his dough, he’s probably way out of our league.

I really suspect there are going to be many disappointed Villa fans, come the end of the window, when we see who we’ve brought in.
Some of the names mentioned make me laugh, especially when Lambert has pretty much told us what we’re likely to get.

Would you play Benteke and Gabby against Sheffield? I probably wouldn’t but would stick one of them on the bench with Wiemann. On the other hand both Benteke and Wiemann need to get their eye in again.

Ideal game for Benteke to get back on the goal trail in my opinion. Bully a lower league defence and gather confidence for prem games.

Depends if he’s actually fit or not, imo.
If he’s fit, play him as as said, could be good for confidence.
Any niggles, rest him and go with Gabby and Wiemann, as that ought to be good enough against a struggling League one outfit. Oh……..er……

anyone not fully fit shouldn’t play imo, we should be able to field none 1st team regs and still win this tie, no excuses about tiredness and injuries will do and we defo don’t want a replay either. but if fit then yes play em, there’s a 9 day break till the next game against arsenal and its a good game to get confidence going not to mention the road to a morale boosting cup run(whatever lambert says) providing we win of course and benteke don’t get his legs broke by the ‘get stuck in nothing to loose’ mentality that Sheffield will no doubt come with.
on transfers I fear I agree with badger, ive seen nothing to indicate we will be getting in the players we all think we need. hope im proved very wrong on this because I think we will need them.

I would DEF play Benteke.. he needs a run of games to get upto speed and he needs a GOAL.. one or two today breeds confidence.. next game you never know he might get an easy chance in the first ten mins and suddenly he’s flying again… here’s hoping
