Greetings everybody, hope you are all well! Apologies for my short absence which has largely been down to Istanbul, a holiday in Mallorca and feeling very unwell. I think I was just exhausted and a break was needed, which was luckily timed well as Badger published an article whilst I was temporarily off the site.
As we head into what will hopefully be an interesting summer, PSR permitting of course, I do believe it is time to run some polls regarding the positions of our 32 listed squad players this season; keep, sell or loan?
A few exceptions, players loaned in will have two options; keep or return?
For context, as I know the polls all look confusing together, the players name is ABOVE the three options. So, for example, if you are voting on McGinn then you are choosing from the three options BELOW ‘McGinn’, which should be in the top right corner of the poll, and the ‘VOTE’ button is BELOW the three options for that poll.
Lets get straight into it:
Obviously, there will be different contexts for different players, so any discussion regarding fees, or whatever your vote may depend on, is welcome in the comments!

I suspect (from my own feelings) that a couple of the keeps may well be hopeful and might well end up being sells to help fund a revamp of the team – as you intimated in your preamble.
Martinez (high wages) and Rogers (high income) are the two obvious ones – I would also add Digne although he did take a wage cut.
I voted to keep Mings – but I admit it was a sentimental vote and it might be time for him to find pastures new to extend his career.
I do think Rogers could well be off.
Mings will go. We won’t renew his contract, but I didn’t think about that option when making the polls, so the sell option can be treated as letting his contract run out.
Alfie. Any chance of an EDIT function? The amount of times we all post and autocorrect or fat fingers have ruined the message is annoying!!!

A lot of newspapers use this. It just gives you 5 minutes or so to go back and correct your errors! A Delete Post function may be handy too for when we’ve been drunk and posted something mean!!!

I’ve gotta say the game times are really working out for me this world cup 😉 The latest one for me is usually starting 11pm. Really bummed ticket prices are so expensive as today’s game is only 3 hours away from me. Cheapest I could find was $1500 in crappy seats. UTV boys today.

I’m English born and bred – I’m just a transplant here. Even though I have US citizenship now, I can’t root for them in any sport.
What’s it like in Texas? (Genuine question). We’re seriously considering emigrating if the UK gets much worse.
Many great things to say, Bum Bum. I’ve been here 11 years now and not likely to ever return to the UK permanently unless I was forced into it. Watch social media during the world cup and see all the reports of hospitality, good people – that’s the real America. Not the false one portrayed in the media. America has been very very good for me. There are downsides (crap in foods, crazy storms, expensive healthcare), but too many good things to count. If you’re serious and want more conversation, let me know.
Can I be a bit personal and ask your age range? Just wondering what the US is like with immigration and age.

There’s still hope for the UK! If the US can turn things around politically (which remains to be seen), then there’s hope for the UK still. For me, there’s just many other more positive reasons to be here than the crazy politics. And last I checked – I’m late 40s!
Best things about the states; I earn a ton more than I did in the UK and got on the housing market within 6 months of moving here and not looked back. Now own 3. The spring/summer weather just means people are out a ton more. We’re closest to Austin but can be in Dallas/San Antonio/Houston all within 3 hours – all of which have a ton of cool things to see/do.
Problem is (and, sorry I’m doing this on a football blog, some may know I just can’t keep my mouth shut on it all) you can’t distinguish genuine between unproductive populists. Could prove costly if people think about risk when voting.
The UK is now turning into a place where value for money is non-existent, hence why people are taking their fortune and living their lives elsewhere. Not just tax avoidant rich people, young people.
We will see what happens. I don’t plan to stay in the UK in the current direction that it is going in.
