John Terry in the bag? A good source says it’s so. Good signing? POLL

So here is the first story I actually believe, in this window.
And it suggests the John Terry signing is pretty much done and dusted.

Yes, I know similar has been reported in the papers, but I never believe them, as some of you will well know.

“Langford”‘s actual words are

My man tells me (don’t forget he got every transfer correct in the last transfer window)….John Terry deal done and dusted but no medical booked Yet!

I feel it’s only fair to say that “Langford” and myself had a slight contretemps a while back, so you never know, he might to be trying to slip me a crippler.
But I very much doubt it, as I know he loves the Villa as much as any of us.
So you can pretty much guarantee this one is correct, unless it suddenly goes boobs up (read more money offered).

If and when he does sign, I suspect it’ll be a great subject for another post, as while he’s been a great player, so he’s also been controversial.

In the meantime, there’s a quick poll, asking what you think.[polldaddy poll=9774388]

Bill, I’m barely interested in the main England team, let alone the U-21s, but am vaguely interested in this one, as it’s the Germans.

Defiantly Nath, and did you see how easy it was from the wing and crosses made?40 shots on goal the Germans had, i like that Pickford the goalkeeper.

So it’s looking very much like JT will sign this weekend, as soon as his current contract runs out.
Langford and his source call it correctly once again. Fair play fellas 🙂

I still think we are making a huge mistake. If he was 5 years younger it would be worth a punt. But look what happened when Scmiechel joined us he was ok for a bit then struggled. Terry will be lucky to play a dozen games for us. He will be hoping we are crap so he can fill Bruce’s shoes imo

I’d agree with that oohah. We’ve had the same situation in the past few years with Lescott and Pires, players way past their best looking for one final pay day and people reminicising about when they were at the top of their game.
Further damning evidence that the club is not learning from its mistakes.

i was interested 🙂 i just read your posts bill. i totally agree with your posts. england were second best and germany were under strength. you like the wing play by the germans getting to the byline. goes to show you that this tactic still works, why all the teams attack with full backs wing backs what ever they call um. goes to show you your tactic works. england had no answers to them

Terry to sign 🙂 i will believe it when he does 🙂

Glad Nath you spotted it as well , i still believe it plays a roll in the game, England got caught every time and yes they had no answer to it, to have 40 shots on goal tells you its in the game still. Terry ? I’m not sure yet but feel he could add to getting them experience in going forwards.

Bill – watched U21’s ’till Germany equalised then I’m sorry to say decided the ‘writing was in the wall’ and switched off. Apart from the first 15 minutes or so England were decidedly second best and I didn’t see any ‘stars’ in the making (apart perhaps from Pickford). Grealish no game time but at least he’s fit for pre season!

On other matters – it looks like JT will be coming and, on balance, I think I would be disappointed if he chose an alternative Championship club. Sam Johnstone rumoured to be going to Middlesbrough on a permanent deal – that’s a blow if we can’t afford to match their alledged offer of £2.5m – where else are we going to pick up a decent GK for that amount?

Yes been reading the Johnstone saga if we miss out then all attention may be lost on the midfield, possibly push the deals through for amavi & gil instead of quibbling over fees they should cover 2.5. Mil asking price I think he likes it at the villa. As for the penalty debacle the other night why the fuck practice penalties 😁 it’s a totally different scenario on a training field to actually doing it in play there’s something called pressure that you can’t copy England players seem to bottle it when required that’s psychological. Finally seems Terry’s villa bound I’ll give him a clean slate if/when he comes hope he does the job UTV

How true this was I don’t know, the German goalkeeper had in his socks a note saying who would kick a ball left or right?, and as you just said giddy kicking spot kicks for a month might have been their down fall. Them Germans put a spy in our camp.😂😂😂😂

this Sam Johnstone news is rather disappointing, blooding a novice of a keeper, with no agreement in placed for if we wanted to sign him permanently. we again have done the hard work for another club to reap the benefits.why cant we blood our own keepers. jed steer has played at hudderfields in championship, if he is not good enough now 2 seasons after, then something is seriously wrong.

p/s i wouldn’t take another novice on loan and fall into the same trap, we should sign a keeper now the ex norwich one ruddy is free or stick with bunn fook it i will do it. remember the days when the shitiest player was put in the goals lol between the jackets
