I’ve decided; RDM out.

I said I was considering my thoughts about the Newcastle game and I’ve come to my conclusion, which is that RDM has to go.

I know. It’s not logical and we’re only one game from going on a run, which is the stance that I’ve held consistently up to now.

But I watched that game and I can’t believe how poor we were in the first half.
The team looked like they were walking around and that simply isn’t good enough for me.
We should be going balls out from the off, but it seems this isn’t how RDM likes to play the game and it’s why I don’t like him.
I don’t believe he has what it takes to fire players up to win games, it’s as simple as that.
And you can’t take a relaxed view when it comes to the Championship.

We face the massive club that is Barnsley tomorow, who stand in seventh place.
And while I have the utmost respect for them, if we can’t beat them, that will be the ultimate confirmation.
RDM will quite simply have no mandate to us to keep him.
And he’ll need to be sacked.

Pressure? Absolutely.
And rightly so, as he’s shown nothing up to now.

I said it two posts back, he’s not the man for Villa. I’ve watched 6 times Badger and my minds made up. Sorry to all you Matteo lovers its my team and I want success now not 12 months away.

Totally agree…. I’ll give him till tomorrow, and it must be 3 points or he’s gone!!! People forget that he’s not walked into someone else’s team where there not his players & he’s trying to figure out what to do with them. He’s asked for these players so he must of known how he wanted them to play and where etc! He put in his shopping list to the doc & the doc come good, he spent a shed load of cash now if that was my money i would of wanted to see the manager knows what he’s doing and where all these players I got him are fitting in to the system he wants! The problem is he doesn’t seem to know what formation or his best team is yet!! And that in its self is shocking.

Agree anything less than 3 points he has to go. Even if they play us off the park hit the woodwork 10 times as long as we get a win that’s good enough. Big Fat Sam anyone?

I’m in ‘the yet to be convinced’ camp but sacking another manager so soon? We’ll be the Midlands answer to Leeds – and it hasn’t done them a lot of good. Can’t see it happening this side of Christmas and who will be available if the Doc continues his strategy of ‘must have Championship experience’? On that basis it would have to be Bruce!

OMG. Those managers available as replacements haven’t proved to be great man-motivators, which is why they are currently on the scrapheap.

Though RDM has been provided with cash to buy players is hasn’t been enough to buy a full 11. If I have a bone to pick with RDM it is that he bought one too many strikers when the priority was then a better midfielder than Westwood. He is doubly unlucky to lose de Laet because we needed a right back and a right winger, and he could play as either.

I would rather advise Tony to get the Feng Shui expert in. “Hill behind, river in front, entrance in middle of street not at a crossroads.” The canal under Spaghetti Jn will have to do as the river, Aston Hall park has the hill – so we just need to move the front door to the middle of the Witton Lane stand. All problems solved.

It is as likely to succeed as any change mooted above.

Yep, lets get rid of RDM and we could have a couple of new mangers before Xmas…. Nothing like a bit of instability as thats what has brought us so much success over the last 5 years….FFS we are a massive improvement on last season, lets all be a little bit more patient.

I am expecting 3pts tomorrow night , we should be rolling teams over with the squad we have. Our preformance in the first 70 mins against Newcastle was shocking. I will give him a couple of games and see where we are. I can understand why people want him out.

I said a couple of games if we don’t win tomorrow night I will be screaming for his head .

A fifth of the season gone and we’re already baying for the manager’s blood. I know we’ve had seasons of totally negative football recently but we have to have a little patience. We were so crap last season that it is going to take time, unless Harry Potter has quit Quidditch and fancies a go as manager that is.

Being reasonable I would hope that Dr. Tony would give RDM at least until the 20 match mark, otherwise we could find ourselves on the managerial merry-go-round spiral downwards like Leeds.

Having said that I think it would also be wise for Dr. Tony to start sounding managers out now just in case.

Can’t believe I’m gonna do it, but I agree with Badger. Mainly because I was against him all summer for him to even be brought in.

Now people continue to claim, oh he’s only been around for a few games, not enough to gel, etc. Guess what, so have a lot of clubs, they have new managers, new teams, etc, and yet they’re not drawing 2/3’s of their games they should’ve won.

They’re not playing 5 at the back because they think it works, when clearly after the first time he used it, should’ve figured that it didn’t. We got just about everyone he wanted, bar Abel, and he still has no idea what to do with them. He has that expression Lambert gave when he couldn’t put tactics and formations together. The “meow meow meow meow” expression of utter uselessness.

I get it, we’ve had injuries that haven’t helped but we have more than enough in this team to be doing far better than we have. Di Matteo isn’t a manager, he’s an assistant at best. And 2 assistant at best manager’s isn’t going to make a team good. I know people are tired of a revolving door of manager’s, but until our owner finds someone who is, you know, actually good, it needs to continue with Di Matteo going.

No idea Bill but the FA are likely to be super sensitive to any suggestion of ‘wrong doing’. Trouble is once the press run a negative story aimed at a high profile sports individual it really doesn’t seem to matter much where the truth lies; the press will keep going until they are vindicated in some way. On that basis Big Sam doesn’t have a prayer.

He still playing square pegs in round holes, which in my mind is criminal, and why the team suffers time and again, we are not Ajax of the 90’s era where the players were technically gifted enough to do so, we are a team struggling in the Championship having suffered relegation the season before.

Ayew in midfield, Bacuna at right back, Kodija on the wing, playing four strikers at times, absolutely farcical, he hasn’t got a clue, tactically poor, motivationally poor, he has to go, simple as that, i can’t imagine anybody could possibly do any worse.

I’d say we’ve got the basis of a half decent side but the big question -is RDM the man to fit all the pieces together? On the showing so far the answer has to be no but then who is? Brucey, McClaren or perhaps Lambert could return like the prodigal manager?
When (if ever) will normal service return to Villa Park?

I will just shuffle your words BWS . “We have half the basis of a decent side.”

Keeper isn’t brilliant, but has improved on his early games. Forwards would look potent if there was a right winger playing who could get to the goal line and cross the ball for a forward running in. We have two players who can do this on the left side, but unfortunately without de Laet – nobody on the right side.

Midfield, as everybody says, two good players short.

OLL we are top heavy, the front line’s frightening but the bits behind it that are the problem and that makes you wonder if Badger was onto something when he suggested the Doc was instrumental in the transfer policy and could account for RDM’s apathetic attitude (a sort of I told you we needed x player(s) not 5 strikers).

I don’t think we really need another managerial hunt /change at this point. Too much instability over and over again. I’ve got major doubts over Di Matteo, but if games lasted 80 minutes we’d be something like 4th in the table. There is something to build on there, but should we fail to win at least one of the next two I think the away fans will turn.
I think it has to be remembered we’re not only trying to rebuild the team, but also the whole club from top to bottom, such was the horror show under the last couple of years with Lerner. These things take time, anyone who was expecting automatic promotion this season is in my opinion deluded. This was always going to be a battle, and whilst I expect better than being in the bottom 6 or 7, I think any manager would do well to finish in the play offs regardless of money spent

I don’t care whether our future manager has prem or championship experience, so long as the interview questioning consist of “What do you think of Gabby and Westwood? You think they’re both shit and refuse to play them? Great – Job’s yours!”

back to wanting another manager, what a pity, that we can’t decide the team between us. we all seem to be experts.look i never wanted RDM he wasn’t in my top 20. but now hes here. how about letting him have a decent amount of time to work with the team. or are we wanting to be the new leeds, sacking 2 or 3 managers per season. if RDM gets the sack at christmas thats way too early.

the owner decided on this guy, he has recruited well. we have the best group of players(my opinion). i see ppl questioning the number of forwards recruiting. well nobody knows if we will pick up injuries. so having numbers up front and a strong depth quality. means we shouldn’t be found wanting come suspensions and injuries set in.

we win tonight that might be the first of a long run of victories. we need to be patient and trust in owner judgement.

iam going for barnsley 4 nil victory

just joking villa 2 nil and three points coming back to vp
