I’ve decided; RDM out.

I said I was considering my thoughts about the Newcastle game and I’ve come to my conclusion, which is that RDM has to go.

I know. It’s not logical and we’re only one game from going on a run, which is the stance that I’ve held consistently up to now.

But I watched that game and I can’t believe how poor we were in the first half.
The team looked like they were walking around and that simply isn’t good enough for me.
We should be going balls out from the off, but it seems this isn’t how RDM likes to play the game and it’s why I don’t like him.
I don’t believe he has what it takes to fire players up to win games, it’s as simple as that.
And you can’t take a relaxed view when it comes to the Championship.

We face the massive club that is Barnsley tomorow, who stand in seventh place.
And while I have the utmost respect for them, if we can’t beat them, that will be the ultimate confirmation.
RDM will quite simply have no mandate to us to keep him.
And he’ll need to be sacked.

Pressure? Absolutely.
And rightly so, as he’s shown nothing up to now.

Change of subject. RIP Jackie Sewell. Jackie gained a FA Cup winners medal with Villa in 1957 (my first football match as a fan). He once commanded the English record transfer fee of £34500, scored for England in the 3-6 defeat by Hungary as well as 40 goals for Villa. He was 89.

I was only 6 when Villa won in 57 but I can remember most of that team.

      Great team, great times.

      Rest in peace Jackie
