Sensible move for Libor. If we have as TS said quite few who missed preseason, and Libor is at the back of that queue, then it makes sense to get him out on loan, especially with the recall clause. Good link to Traore, but maybe more focus on the defence or Austin would be safer…

I think defence should be a priority now we really need a good ch and RB

rumours this morning saying lennon will turn us down (he wants to go to Everton) and Stoke will miss out on Shaqiri who Everton will try and bring in instead of lennon and Stoke will turn to Traore.
TS saying we are going for more homegrown players. most British based players are overpriced and overpaid doesn’t make sense to me .

Conflicting reports and comments Dom – Shaqiri going to Stoke so I would be surprised if they also pursued Traore. Latest reports have us favourites to sign Traore and Praet but TS says he’s looking at Home grown players – confusing or maybe OohAh has it right – it’s all bollox. But from whom?

thats why i said rumours ! . but i really think there is a lot of favoritism from some site towards certain teams. like HITC always try and get spurs into every story and have been pushing the adebayor , lennon , Townsend rumours for ages .

If it is only for 6 months Kozak won’t want to go to far from his present home, which limits the choice somewhat. The Bluenoses, Saddlers and Coventry? But wait a minute if he goes – we are left with Gabby who seemed to injure himself running at Bournemouth, Gestede who TS reckons is fit for only 30 minutes of a Prem game and Ayew who watched more passing by him than a copper on point duty.

I do not see the loan out as a smart move.

Apparently- according to Belgian press – we have been ‘cleared’ to sign him at £7m; whatever that means!

Rudy Gestede £7,000,000 Shay Given Free
Jordan Veretout £7,000,000 Fabian Delph £8,000,000
    Christian Benteke £32,500,000

    total in ——-£43,500,000 total out—————-£45,250,000
    total net spent -£1,750,000

all these figures are from a website called transfer league so i cant vouch that there 100% correct but looking at this i think we could still spend at least another £20m.
when you look that a club like WBA have spent the guts of £25m without selling hardly anyone. im not being unrealistic thinking we still have a decent chunk of change to spend.

Yes, tables never seem to format correctly, but it doesn’t matter.
All that does is the bottom line figures.
Agreed, if we don’t spend at least £20 mill, lerner has had us over.

More realistically, I suspect we’re keeping our powder dry and will bargain hard as the selling clubs become increasingly more desperate.
Praet is a good case in point.
They’ve been good enough to drop their price? I wonder why?
Quite simply because there’s no demand for him at this sort of money, imo and it’s all hype.

If we’re really interested, we’ll offer a lot less than the £7 mill they’ve so generously allowed him to go for, you watch.

i read they dropped Praet’s price but want a sell on percentage clause . they think if he comes to us and does well we will sell on like we did with benteke and they will get a hefty chunk of his next transfer. sounds ok to me as long as there not looking for a crazy amount .

Hmm the Kozak loan rumour has got me thinking we’re making space for a new centre forward. Wouldn’t surprise me if we sign Charlie Austin as Sherwood wants to concentrate on English players. Watching the Albion game and still reckon Lescott may be on the cards also. They’ve signed Chester and have Dawson and McCauley who can play centre half.

Couple that with either Traore or Praet and no Spurs cast offs and we’ve the making of a decent squad 🙂

I would have preferred Chester to Lescott! Would be happy with Austin, Traore and Praet plus Lescott though!

Praet would be a brilliant signing, but I think if we have limited money left it will end up being spent on a RB or CB.

Interesting about Kozak, I guess TS doesnt reckon he’s up to it yet (or maybe at all). I really hope we dont sign Adebayor though. I would rather have Kozak than that mercenary any day.
