Paul Lambert will allow Alan Hutton to go out on loan however claims that there have been no offers for the Scottish right-back. Hutton has been frozen out of Villa since Lambert’s arrival in July 2012. Despite not featuring for Aston Villa, Hutton continues to play at right-back for his national side.
Last year Hutton went out on loan to Mallorca and had a successful half-season, yet was unable to prevent the relegation of Mallorca. Hutton failed to attract any teams last January and the summer transfer window. It’s believed that his wages are the putting off interested teams.
“I don’t know, you’d probably have to ask the teams that are interested in him.
“It’s good for him that he’s performing for the national team, I can’t influence that, all I can influence is Aston Villa.
“If something comes in, we’ll certainly look at it. I spoke to Alan but, at the moment, we’ve not had anything.” – Paul Lambert
You’ve got to feel for Hutton, he hasn’t well at Villa but to be frozen out for nearly a year and half must be devastating for him. I’m glad that he’s at least playing for Scotland, that way some teams can at the very least monitor him. I hope he can find a club permanently, because loan deals don’t necessarily benefit older players nor their clubs.
