Great win over Wigan and Bristol tomorrow, plus no kids for sale

To be honest, when I saw the teamsheet for the Wigan game, I immediately lost any interest and couldn’t be bothered to try and find a stream.
So I just tracked here and the OS for the latest news, while I did other important stuff.

I wouldn’t have minded a few changes, but eleven?
I wanted to see at least some continuity, but Steve Bruce obviously doesn’t see it like that.
Of course, I totally understand that the manager has players knocking his door moaning about wanting to play, but still…

That said, it was a great result, wasn’t it?
From what I heard, Wigan didn’t play too badly and we were actually quite good. Ok, we should expect to beat League one teams, but they have got off to a very good start to the season and as we all know, momentum is massively important. Which goes back to why I didn’t want to see too many changes.

You can’t knock a 4-1 win though, whichever way you dice it and I can only say well done to all the lads involved.

So all in all, it’s been a great week up till now and us scoring four goals two games running is a real rarity.

I wonder if we can keep it up against Bristol City tomorrow?
We’re riddled with injuries again, but you would hope the squad is beginning to show itself and it shouldn’t really cause us a major problem, if confidence is as high as we’d expect it to be.
The interesting injury is Hutton, who you would think Bruce might have wanted to play tomorrow. No doubt young Bree will take his place.

Otherwise, I suspect it’ll be a case of pretty much the eleven who were rested for the Wigan game.

Now Bristol are no mugs, but they haven’t had a great start either, so we should have a very good chance of winning this.
I’m going to go for 2-1 to us, because I’m hoping we’ve found our scoring boots, although I think we don’t look particularly good at the back.

That’s on the assumption that Bruce doesn’t bottle it and actually goes for the win, which I think he has too.
If he plays his more usual canny (defensive “do not lose” rubbish), he’ll be ripped to pieces by us fans if we lose, in my opinion.

And in what is the most obvious thing I’ve read in ages, we ain’t selling any of the kids.
Quite right too, as even if we fall foul of FFP, selling any of our youngsters would just be an absolute joke and undermine everything the fans want to see, in kids coming through.
That, plus Green apart, they’ve only had the odd game.
So the links are laughable anyway, as I very much doubt we need the odd million or so that we might get for them.

Cheeky Prem clubs wanting to mop up kids on the cheap from the lower leagues, eh?
Oops, I forgot.
That’s what we’re aiming for, isn’t it?

Come on guys. All the moaning. I’m seeing heart and determination. A hell of a lot better than what we’ve had before. It’s not perfect but we are making progress. Maybe we should bring back Bacuna, Westwood, Richardson, Lescott, Guzan, Okore etc etc etc. Remember what we have come from. The away wins will be hard fought and guess what. We are still in with a chance with ten minutes to go.

So loads of negative crap on here tonight from the usual suspects plus Badger seems to have been dragged into the slough of despond.

But then I obviously know nothing about football as I thought we did OK given our terrible away form and our complete inability to win on televised Friday night games.

And I think Snodgrass is a good signing, I like the ‘useless player from Tottenham’ (Oohah’s words) and you know what – I don’t care a f*** what you clever negative know also think 🙂

That might be the booze talking 🙂

And you forgot to mention that we were wrongly denied a corner near the end which could have got us the winner……..swings and roundabouts?

Well played lads. Lots of strength, guts and character to come back to gain a point at a very difficult venue!
Bruce, tactics were spot on….both goals had an element of luck…..but has I have said many times…..good luck is POSITIVE and NOT negative.

P.S. Hutton at fault for their goal…..it’s always his fault 😀😀

Coming into good form now! Onwards and upwards we march!

We have to win around 28 plus games this season for automatic promotion. We’ve so far won one in 5. You do the maths

Disappointed not to get a win tonight. But still don’t see this as a bad result as Bristol are unbeaten at home so far. The team is coming together nicely and we are beginning to look like a real contenders for promotion. We are gelling as a team and look at what players we still have to come back into the squad. What stands out for me is that the players look like they want to be here to win and not just for the money. Villa will be up near top by Christmas. To much negativity on here. Nowhere to be seen when we win but keyboard happy when they sniff an opportunity to post negative comments just for the sake of it.

And Snodgrass is crap and Hutton cost us the win with his awful defending! 😀😀

We can’t afford to draw many games this year we are far behind leaders as it is.

Honestly it was a fair result. Bristol ran their socks off and had a number of good half changes. We easily could have given away a penalty on any other day, the passing was largely wasteful, and we were largely lucky Bruce’s starting tactics didn’t punish us in the first half. It’s still early days but Villa really do need to improve if we plan to go up.

Positives – Johnson once again looked strong. Hogan looked great coming off the bench and definitely could have made the difference had he come on a little earlier. Overall I think today was a learning experience for everyone (Bruce and squad), some good movement in the second half, and we didn’t lose away from home – so an improvement. Tactics aside the squad is starting to pick itself which is nice to see and there are some early signs a few partnerships are starting to form.

How many more learning experiences do we have to suffer. Bruce is supposed to be the finished article ffs

You know what pisses off is the mind games played by the many negative ‘anti Villa’ posters on here …..they actually realise that it was a well earned draw! I’ll let you work it out for yourselves……nothing but moan and moan before kick off…..but now conspicuous by their absence. You decide ! So very, very sad and twisted little negative minds. Can you see through it? I certainly can!

Yes a draw is decent at Bristol under normal circumstances but with just 5 games gone we are already losing ground on the leaders. Draws are useless to us know.
