Four players have been sent out on loan by Aston Villa. Out-of favour keeper Shay Given has joined Middlesbrough on a one-month loan deal after Middlesbrough number one keeper Steele picked up a red card against Leeds United last weekend. Steele will miss three-games. Given is regarded as one of the best keepers in the Premier League and he’ll have a chance to play some first team football. Given has gone straight into Middlesbrough squad and will play against Bolton over the weekend. Hopefully Given plays well and alerts some of our Premier League rivals, this move will give Given the chance to prove he is still match fit and still has the ability to play in the top flight.
Youth winger Jordan Graham has joined Ispwich on loan. The young player has also joined in with the Ispwich first team and may make his debut against Charlton. Graham has recently recovered from an injury and this loan move will give him some vital first team experience. This one was a bit of a shock, Graham is probably a good player but I haven’t heard too much about him.
Doncaster have signed defender Enda Stevens. The 23-year old is set to feature for Doncaster against QPR this weekend. The Irish defender has already gone out on loan this season with Notts County and has gone out on loan again this season. Stevens last appearance for Aston Villa was against Southampton in January. I though Stevens had some potential and isn’t a bad defender. Could’ve slotted in the left-back position for the injured Bennett and Luna. He, too will surely leave Aston Villa once a suitable offer comes in.
Lastly, Villa’s reserve keeper Benji Siegrist has joined League 2 side Burton on a one-month loan deal. The reserve keeper made his name in the in Under-19 World Cup for Switzerland and is rated by Aston Villa. Siegrist will be given the chance to play some first team football. I personally rate Siegrist very highly and I hope he puts in some big performances during his stay with Burton. I reckon he’s one for the future and will surely be battling it out with Steer for the number 1 shirt in a few years to come.
