With the excellent news that star striker Christian Benteke and another 6 players (Weimann, Lowton, Guzan, Westwood, Baker and Clarke) have all committed there immediate future to us for the next 3-4 years, the question on a lot of supporters lips must be, when will Paul Lambert sign an extension?
What Paul Lambert has done at Villa, in my opinion, is phenomenal. He’s completely reshaped the club, brought young, unknown players and worked with them to improve them, frozen out the players with big egos and who aren’t interested in giving there all for Aston Villa, improved the scouting network tenfold and he’s also as given us fans our club back, as well as a great sense of optimism for the future.
Lambert has 2 years left on his contract but surely Lerner and Faulkener need to start negotiations in the near future. I think Lambert has the potential and knowledge to go right to the very top, hopefully that’ll be with Villa and it’s now down to our owner and CEO to make sure they open talks sooner rather than later.
I have no doubt that Lambert will be with us for the next 5 years, providing he continues to be allowed to manage the club the way he is at the moment.
I can’t wait for the new season to begin. It’s been a fantastic summer so far. The icing on the cake would surely be reading that Paul Lambert has signed an extension.

I’m not saying everything is negative but the negatives outweigh the positives at the moment if and when that changes then fair enough I will be more positive. All I’m trying to be is realistic my comments where exactly the same when Ian run the site it’s nothing to do with power. In not being negative I’m being realistic and realistically we havnt got much to shout about at the moment. The problem is every victim (as B6 says) on here knows there is a lot of stuff seriously wrong deep down
with the club but try and put a positive slant on it as no one wants to admit that being relegation candidates for 3 years is not acceptable. It’s a bit like an alcoholic not admitting he has a drink problem. This team will still struggle next year we may not go down now we kept benteke but we will struggle. That is the reality if I am wrong I will come on here and do a groveling apology for being wrong cant say fairer than that can I ?

Don’t know why everyone gangs up on ooh ah I get what he says he is being more realistic than negative. I don’t agree with everything he says but he does make some valid points to especially re lambert and his inability in getting a team to defend properly.
So you think by slagging our players off, slagging new signings off before they’ve even played, calling Lambert “Lamberk”, constantly slagging of Lerner for not signing 10-12 million pound players is normal for a supporter? I get negativity and I get realism, slagging off players that he’s never seen play, slagging off the manager who’s building something positive, slagging off the owner who has ploughed a lot of money into the club, slagging off players as soon as they make a mistake is not being realistic, that’s being negative. The fact the guy very very rarely, if ever, looks at the positive side of things would probably explain the negative reputation that he’s given himself. Realism would be accepting what Lambert and Lerner are doing at the club, realism would be to have a little patience, realism would be just because other teams are spending 10-12 million on a player doesn’t mean they’re guaranteed success. He does make some valid points at times, not often but occasionally. As I said last season oohah is the kind of bloke who if we were 15 points clear at the top of the table he’d find a negative from it.
B6 bang on, I come on here to find out if theres anything new, but to read what they have to post makes my blood boil. Nothing positive just negative dribble with no substance. If we won the league they would find something to be negative about. I really do not know why I reply it’s more in anger than to get a reply. Lol rocky, I only came on here the beginning of last season and to be fair it was a decent site with some good debate. But now it’s gone right down the shit creek. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but I can’t help thinking a certain 2 people do comment for a reaction. That’s a pretty sad way to live your life in my opinion.

I am not a yes man just a Villa fan that gets behind the club. and the team through thick and thin, you must come in your pants every time you post a negative thread, you must have to soak in the bath to get your underpants off every night! We have played 4 friendlies which mean absolutely nothing in terms of results and you have us down for relegation. These mean nothing just a means of getting the payer fit. So look at it for what they are and not as a negative. All away from home and we did not loose. Move on the bath waters in!
We did not win, did not keep a clean sheet, still conceded at a corner all against shit opposition. Yes I know it’s a friendly but I am negative over the past 3 years not because of friendlys. We have virtually no quality in the squad. Lets see where we are at Xmas then we can debate again. I hope I’m wrong but this squad of players is no better than last season. Teams like saints and Swansea have strengthened we will prob sell bent to our relegation rivals ie Newcastle or Fulham it’s not good

These people go on about how negative Oohah and terry are and how they slag the club but all the other posters keep on slagging them rather than talking about the villa and trying to have a good debate with them. Apart from Benteke, weimann, Lowton (though better going fwd than defending IMO) and Guzan I am really struggling to find anyone else with quality. The jury is out of Westwood, baker, Delphi though I think those 3 may just make it the rest of the squad will struggle IMO
