Fulham – Villa; Has he been sacked yet?

Well, apparently not and we can only wish.

The first thing Steve Gerrard mentioned in the Email I got from the club today mentioned how we’d got no new squad problems because Cameron Archer is fit after suffering from a bug at the weekend.
Why he even bothered to mention that, I really don’t know, as if the lad gets on the pitch it’ll probably only be for a couple of minutes anyway.
In fact, not playing Archer when Watkins and Ings are so ineffective is just one of the reasons I want him gone. If it’s the case that the manager doesn’t want to risk the kid losing confidence because of a poor game or something, that might be acceptable, if only he would come out and say that.
But it just seems like he doesn’t rate Archer at all and his comments to the Brum Mail reporter regarding Archer just heightened my disdain for him even more.

You never know, now that I’ve said that, maybe Gerrard realises how close to the bullet he is and will actually give Archer a good half an hour or so. Then again, I doubt it.

And then, the fact that Lucas Digne might have done a bit of training on grass today apart, I really couldn’t care less about what he has to say.
Which is some state of affairs. I even listened to Alex McLeish, even though I really didn’t like him.

So given that I’m finding it hard to even motivate myself to watch the game, which is on Prime video,
I’m going to give my guess as to how the game will go.

We’ll huff and puff and maybe even create some chances. We have have yet another boatload of shots.
But I don’t see us scoring more than one, if that.
And given that we still look prone to conceding, whether through Mings’ errors or not, I think we’ll concede more than one.
Hence I’m going for a 2-1 defeat.
And if it happens, I don’t know how I’ll feel.
I don’t want us to lose, yet a defeat would put Gerrard another step closer to being gone.
Which would be a good thing.

  1. Its a real dilemma this. I would take the defeat if it means he goes tonight, but on the other hand we desperately need the points.

    1. Sadly, I’m beginning not to care about points – just get rid of Gerrard now and give us a chance.

  2. Comms just said there were loud boos coming from the away fans at HT.
And so it begins in earnest.

  3. F@@king terrible Disorganized – no game plan – can’t string two pass together – pile of shite.
    Gerrard out!

  4. So Gerrard substitutes Bednorak for Cash – just shows how tactically inept he is – admission of failure?

Comms already talking about the Brentford game as being Gerrard’s last chance – so they’ve already written Villa off tonight and you can’t blame them

      1. That wasn’t a headbutt. U wanna watch Dion’s at Gobbie Savage. Now THAT was a headbutt!!! Brilliant!!!

  5. I’m so fed up – what a load of crap. Stupid by Luiz but Mitrovitch made an absolute meal of it.

Still if it helps getting Gerrard out so be it.

  6. That was all Luiz fault. He does something stupid every game. You can’t do that even if Mitrovic did make a meal of it. Now a penalty. Gerrard is gone by tomorrow.

  7. How can that be a deliberate hand ball – the rules are complete rubbish?

  8. The whole club is poisoned. If you’re looking who to blame then look at Purslow. He abandoned the project that Smith laid down to get his mate in.
    Now it’s 2-0!

    1. A lot of truth in that Holte.

Fans have to push to get rid of Purslow as well as Gerrard.

  9. Gerrard out now.

Not only is he a crap manager, he’s an unlucky one.

  10. Unlucky Martinez.
2-0 and even that handball was harsh at that distance, imo.
Not that it matters much. Fulham are well worth the points.
Dendoncker on for Ings and a lot of fans sing “we want Gerrard out”.

  11. That’s it 2-0 down, so take a striker off for defensive midfielder. The man is clueless.

  12. If Gerrard is still Villa Manager tomorrow I am done. Its the only conciliation I am trying to take from this shit show.

  13. Has Fulham actually managed a clean sheet this season – I’m not sure they have. Says all you need to know about this clueless side – and that’s down to the manager.

  14. Fulham have been given so much space to play all game – that has to be down to the lack of game plan, desire, intensity etc. from Villa.

If Gerrard is still manager tomorrow, I am definitely not watching the Brentford game.

  15. It’s getting very embarrassing now; 3 – 0 and that’s it.

What a load of complete and utter crap.

    1. I don’t think it’s fair to blame Mings for tonight’s excruciating embarrassment. The major culprit is sitting in the dug out and if he had any sense of humility he’d resign tomorrow and apologise to all Villa fans for ruining our team.
