Aston Villa have been pursuing Wes Hoolahan all day and despite putting two fresh bids today it appears as though Norwich are just uninterested in doing any business with Aston Villa. The two clubs relationship has been sour since Paul Lambert controversially quit Norwich to manage Aston Villa.
Aston Villa have identified Wes Hoolahan as the ‘number 10’ player but it now appears as though Hoolahan will most likely join West Brom on loan for the remainder of the season.
Paul Lambert has also come out and said that if he fails to land a ‘number 10’ his current side will be able to cope for the remainder of the season. Against Liverpool and West Brom we’ve seen Weimann and Bacuna play the number 10 role and they’ve both done a fairly decent job of it.
Villa could possibly still sign someone, but that appears very unlikely with time running out very quickly. The only business Villa have completed so far today is loaning out Enda Stevens to Doncaster for the remainder of the season and Shay Given will be staying at Villa Park.
