There has been a lot of talk about players moving to Aston Villa, some names include Hoolahan, Lescott, Defour and Wells. But with one or two players joining Aston Villa this season, could we see a player or two leaving the club in January? Some clubs tend to have a sell-then-buy policy. However I’m sure Villa have a buy-first-sell-second policy this January transfer window.
Goal Keepers:
Brad Guzan, Jed Steer and Ben Siegrist will definitely stay until the summer! Guzan is number 1 and Steer is number 2. Meanwhile Siegrist is out on loan at Burton. Shay Given was linked with a move to Swansea but with his current loan deal at Middlesbrough expiring in February, he won’t be sold this month either.
Defenders:
Lambert will not sell a single defender! Aston Villa have had numerous defensive injuries so far this season so every player will be needed. Bennett and Herd are close to returning from injury and Okore will be back by March. The only exception is Allan Hutton. Still out of favour and will be looking for a move. He plays regularly for Scotland so hopefully he can find a club.
Midfielders:
With a few midfielders linked to join Aston Villa I reckon we could see a midfielder leave Aston Villa. As of right now, Marc Albrighton has played the least amount of football in midfield. However, with his recent form he’ll be given a chance and will probably not be sold. However, last season signing Sylla could possibly be sold. If Aston Villa received a bid for the Malian midfielder, I’m pretty confident Lambert would accept it. Sylla did well last season, but this season he has been poor.
Forwards:
Jordan Bowery, that’s all I really got to say. All other strikers have scored a goal except for Jordan Bowery. He has had two seasons at the club and has been restricted with first team appearances but still had a few playing time. Aston Villa have a lot of strikers and the Bowery experiment has failed. He is the same age as Benteke but he just isn’t anywhere near that level. Should an offer come in, I’m sure he’ll be off.
Could someone plse tell me where this info about grealish being recalled came from because i can’t see fuck all anywhere stating this.nice if true.
Good Morning Boys now all this talk about banners and protests how on earth does anybody think it;s going to have any impact when you only have one puppet master pulling the strings. Now in an ideal in the interests of fair play would it not have been a better solution for the football controlling bodies to say that no one man can own one hundred percent of a club.In this ideal world me i would say that any club should be fifty percent owned by the fans as this means at least an AGM could be called every year and everybody would have a say in what direction they think the club should be going. As it stands at the moment fans have no influence at all and the things that are happening at VP at the moment will continue to happen while one man as all the say.A football club should be run the same as any company by it;s shareholders that,s why football must change or thing never will.
If you look at the public services in this country they are DELIBERATELY being managed into decline, so are Aston Villa.
If anyone should be sold, it is the club
50% owned by the fans?
i don’t think man city or chelsea fans give a shite about that to be honest
do a fans of a now resurgent liverpool?
Its a nice idea .. its almost romantic and i know there is something like that in either Germany or Spain for clubs ( i need to look into that)
but honestly i don’t beleive anyone would give to f’s about owning 50% if lerner spent a 100m every year
hmm banners!
lol thank god for us fans eh?
I think the last time i seen those was when Villa were spending money and trying to pass the ball while buying expensive “experienced” players
where as now we are doing the opposite and we are still around the same position in the table! must be some devine intervention happening or and i know this is still ignored by many and very unpopular with many others ..but maybe there are some external forces also at work .. such as the competing teams resources ..
I will say this for us though. at least we waited a full season before unfurling them.
last time it was about 6 months into houllier’s reign i believe.
I say go banana’s though.
it doesn’t make any sense to me because you might as well be trying to change the weather
But maybe it will help the players or manager finally perform
or if it doesn’t then at the least it will trigger an immediate sale and managers firing with almost instantaneous better funded and better qualified owner and managers that are secretly waiting in glee to get the chance to see their names on a banner at VP.
it worked the last time.
