Carlos “The Rock” Sanchez signs on for Villa.

Sanchez

Well, it’s nice to post something extremely positive for once, in that we’ve signed a player that the team has been craving for, for years.
While I’m very minded to say “it’s about time”, I won’t dwell on that, as it’s simply a big boost that the club and it’s supporters needed just before the season kicks off.

I would imagine Sanchez will get the biggest cheer by a mile tomorrow (if I read correctly that he’s eligible to play, that is), but we should be careful in not placing too much expectation on his shoulders in my opinion.
I’d suggest he’s going to take maybe a bit of time to settle and I for one am certainly going to give him a while before I judge him.

If he’s half as good as Claude Makelele, who he tries to model himself on, we’ll have a very decent player.

So the deal’s done and I’ll quite simply link to what has been written on the OS, as it’s actually a decent article, with something of substance for once;

    Good win, defence looked solid, all be it against a poor stoke attack but to get a clearn sheet away has to mean something. Vlaar great. Senderos played ok. Cissokho was very good, hutton did his job, Can’t wait for Okore back and Snachez to sit in front of this defence. And I will tell you now top 5 La Liga Side and current Europa Liga holders Sevilla are upset they didn’t secure Sanchez;s services, quotes ranging from ‘more talent leaving la liga’. ‘cant believe we let a player like that slip’.Grealish had a couple of good moments since he came on and I though NZOG played ok. Gaby meh. Weimann goal lucky but sometimes its what you need to win away UTV!

    3 points…clean sheet…3 players on debut were excellent. Someone said earlier that the ‘Keane influence’ was evident….thats spot on. Its a long time since I have seen such commitment from a Villa team.
    BTW….I have just heard PL’s interview and I understood EVERY word of it…..it seems that beer helps in that respect 🙂

    One down, thirty seven to go. The home form must improve this season though as that was nearly our downfall last year. We need a playmaker to make things happen in the home games. Haven’t really had one since Merson. Hopefully get someone for that position before window closes. Well done lads. Great win today.

    Agreed mate…Cole, obviously not fit. Cant see us getting more than 15 games out of him. Grealish is a potential no10 IMO
