Cardiff – Villa; I expect the win

Well, that’s my balls fair and square on the block.
I just think we’re going to win this, it’s that simple.

Let’s do the team news.

Apparantly, McCormack and Gabby both have ankle injuries.
Er, read they aren’t playing then, because neither have shown anything and it’s just a reason?
I know what I think and if we have to say they’re injured instead of quite simply rubbish, I can live with it.
It means we play the players who are actually performing.
McCormack’s a goner for me and the biggest problem is if we can shift him, although I’m sure many won’t agree with that thought.
Gabby? Well I’m saying nothing at all, because that’s all he’s worth to the club now.

On Cardiff’s side, I’m not seeing any issues, apart from maybe some sickness bug running through the club.
Yes that’s always a good excuse, but when it’s pointed out that Joe Bennet is facing the Villa for the first time, you know Cardiff have problems. Adomah should have him for breakfast, simple and I might even contemplate Gestede coming on for a cross-fest.

Their fans remain majorly optimistic and that’s good to see, but to be honest, I think they’re deluded.
While Neil warnock is a great manager and one I really admire, for once I feel I have to go back to the days of old where I confidently predict a win.

My head says 2-1 and my heart says 2-0.
I’m going with my head.

If we don’t win this, forget any ambitions.

But there’s always that Warnock factor, isn’t there?

Championship’s only unbeaten team at home!

Fortress Villa Park once again and 7 games unbeaten since SB joined us.

Newcastle blow up against one of the bottom teams, now believing we actually might have a chance of going straight back to the Prem never mind the play offs.

Shame Brighton didn’t lose today I still think top 2 is beyond us down to all those leads we blew under RDM. Another 7-8 and we may have just done it but Beighton can lose 4 in a row and they’d still be ahead of us.

Oohaah you’re probably right but its going to be a long season and there’s two automatic spots. I’d bet on Brighton getting one as they have the experience but it’s always possible that Newcastle might blow up.

Anyway as I said we might have a chance that’s all, certainly before SB we didn’t have a snowballs chance in hell of doing it.

Right now I’d settle for a play off spot 🙂

Anyone actually see the game? BBC suggesting Cardiff dominated second half and were unlucky not to come away with (by implication) at least a draw. I have yet to see a BBC report on any of our games that gives us much credit – or am I being one eyed?

My brother said that Cardiff kicked bits off us, he was surprised that only one Cardiff player got sent off.
