I have to say I’m a little surprised, but it is great news. Earlier this week I pegged Benteke to pull the same stunts he did at Genk, but CB showing up for training can only be a good thing. Not only does it show Benteke has matured a bit but it also allows for the squad to vent their disappointment and just move on. Although, I would love nothing more than to be in that room when Lambert sits down with Benteke. Up until this point I don’t think they have really been in touch?

I think lambert will read him the riot act tbh. Either man up and get yourself fit and raring to go with villa as spurs are not going to bid asking price or you can rot in the reserves on World Cup season!

Lambert will def have words with him. Thing is there’s no hiding place for Benteke. Wether he was ill-advised or had his head turned it was still his decision to hand in a transfer request. I guess Lambert will tell him to keep his head down, work hard and if any offer comes in that meets the clubs valuation then it’ll be accepted. At which point Benteke will withdrawal his transfer request, release a press conference apologising to everyone for his actions, admit he thought Tottenham was Arsenal’s feeder club, sack his agent, sign a new 5 year contract on the same wage and score 35 league goals next season.

On a serious note I hope he fucks off asap.

Maybe lamberts going to tell him that we are a London club but based in Bham. That will confuse him for a few seasons!
