Benteke Puts In Transfer Request!

Ok short and sweet as the title speaks for itself. It is widely reported what most of us thought would happen that CB has put in a transfer request. As much as it pains me to say it but who can blame him. He will go for loads more money and a CL club and after seeing the bunch of talentless nobodies coming in at £1-2 m must have been the final straw. I don’t care what anyone says this was going to happen and iv been saying this all season we are now officially a selling club ‘the Crewe of the premiership’ if you like. Lerner please go now you are a disgrace.

Lads please none of this 20M plus Lukaku none sense..

Firstly Lukaku himself is probably valued at 20M..

Secondly and most importantly I don’t think Lukaku would even consider a permanent move to Villa or be happy to take 40k a week.. Unfortunately.

Out of interest, is Bent definitely going? I appreciate he’s a) on BIG wages and b) probably completely disillusioned with Villa but we have I think two years left on his contract at about £8million in wages. We’re going to lose a hell of a lot of money on him but now we have a couple of wingers coming in…

Crewe of the premiership!!!??? I think not. Isn’t that Arsenal for selling RVP to ManU?

I never really thought that he would stay and this news is hardly registering on the disappointment scale. A commodity player compared to Gareth Barry who was nearly like one of the family. We should get a premium price as there will be competition for his signature.

I think that Chelsea would be my preference- deepest pockets and the prospect of a Lukaku loan.

Who cares about the Lions, Andy Murray the Ashes or any one modern day footballer, my Wycombe tickets have arrived. We are nearly ready for the next episode in our club’s history.

In PL and RL we trust.

We will not loose out on this situation…….. Yes we are all disappointed, yes we all wanted another year from him, but we all knew he was going to go at some point. So if we think it don’t you think Lambert did???

Lambert has already laid the next foundation, ready to pounce for this season, except its different, second season with stability, young athletic upcoming talent.

Do not underestimate L&L intentions for AVFC, you all need to be patient, it’s in the making, or as some of you call it transission.

The squad is getting stronger and will continue.

All this talk of Ba or Lukaku is ridiculous, I’d hate to see either at Villa.

Ba already showed Noo’astle what he’s all about, wasting on the chelski bench and Lukaku was a baggy last season and would not be fond of potentially being reaplced by his compatriot at Chelski and moving to us.

Really don’t like the idea of either at Villa, we need players who want to play for us.

Can we not bother with the ‘i told you so’s’ and the ‘he’s just mercenary scum’ talk, let’s be honest, a lot of clubs are after him, we are rebuilding and he wants to move to club challenging for things, this happens all the time in football, he isn’t the first and won’t be the last, but the last thing i want to read all day is vitriol, i’d much rather speculate as to who we can bring in as a replacement and how we can move forward.

Anything other than that will just make us fans look bitter and this blog look cheap, let’s not rise to it, Aston Villa is a far bigger entity than Christian Benteke, in football and in life.

Sell him to the highest bidder and move on, Lambert will find another gem, and like others have said, go for Bony.

    Onwards and Upwards. UTV.

Ha no of course not, and i’m both gutted and furious he wants to leave, but i refuse to resort to name calling and vitriol as it’s fruitless and whilst the sun is out and the weather is glorious, i’m refusing to allow it to bring me down, if he wants out, he can f*ck off, i’m not going to waste any more thought on the guy.

Well we saw it coming I suppose. We all hoped that Benteke might prove the exception by showing a trace of loyalty to Lambert and the club which gave him him his big break by staying just one more year. But hey, this is modern day football, and cynicism and opportunism is the name of the game. Big player, little man.
We just have to see how Lambert plays this now, which is a big test for him as a manager. I sense that he has absolutely no time at all for this sort of behaviour and in private, I bet he’d like to kick Benteke out and slam the door. However, the club has to play this with diplomacy and in a real, business like fashion. We’ve got to get the best deal possible financially, and I don’t think we want any more Defoe “makeweight” offers from the likes of Spurs.
Over to you, Messrs Lerner, Faulkner and Lambert. We all hope that you’ve got a bit of ambition back. Show us that you really have got a Plan.

I’d put a £35m price tag on him, if anyone is willing to pay that then great, we have a lot of money to play with, if not, he’ll have to stay and start the season with us.

I could live with that as long as it’s all cash and no make weights (Adebayor/ Defoe) and that ALL the cash is given to PL to reinvest in players as he feels fit.

This is the clubs stance, let’s see if they stick to this.

“Having received his transfer request, we have also informed him that should we receive an offer within an appropriate timeframe during pre-season which meets our valuation we would act upon it. But he will remain a Villa player should this not happen.”

I think he will go to Liverpool after Suarez Fuchs off. Makes sense now helenius bought to replace benteke and last time Liverpool sold their top striker they signed Carroll straight away to appease supporters. If he goes there then he is simply a mercenary

To say i’m disappointed is putting it mild. Villa gave him his break, we made him look good by setting up the team so he could play the way he did and now he puts two fingers up. it won’t be so easy for him in a top 4 club. but we still have the foundation of a bloody good strike force with Weiman and Gabby. and Lambert can uncover another gem. onwards and upwards Villa and fuck the greedy eastwards. Bitter, me?
