      The Yorkshire Post

Rotherham United break record for Villa star Bowery.

The striker has penned a two-year deal with the Millers.

I’d say that pretty much confirms it.

    Two year contract for Cole.

I wish him well obviously, but don’t think it’s a great move. What does he have left to prove ?

He said he just wants to play. Don’t think he cares about proving anything, but he wants to still have fun and took a massive wage cut for it.

On the plus side with the likes of Bowery, at least we were always going to get our money back or at least cut our losses.

Makes a pleasant change to see players that didn’t quite make it with Villa going for decent money. Compare and contrast to letting them leave on frees after running down bloated contracts.

Who has just been released by Roda JC Kerkrade, who might as well be Paget Rangers.

I guess I’d better do a bit of fitness training, as seeing as I was rejected by my school team, I’m expecting a call soon.

I’m now beginning to think we might as well play the kids.

Dutch DM from Roda. Hard tackling midfielder, compared to De Jong but better offensively too. Someone we desperately need if we’re going to play Cole as the AM like it’s claimed he was promised.

He’d have been sold, not released if he was of any value. Obviously not, just like Cole.
I guess the club will be hiring a few more staff to rub cream into the bedsores of our older players. Nice one.
        Lerner is such a loser.

We’re not the only EPL club offering him a contract though. I was told he has offers from Leicester, Hull and us and has till Friday to decide.

He’s out of contract, but they took their offer off the table due to having no financial stability. Much like Fulham, Cardiff and such are doing letting everyone go for free.

strange these links about deeney, we have no money 2 use as transfer fee, supposedly lots of teams including newcastle want him, so a bidding war could take place.

Couple things. He knows a couple people who work inside Villa Park, but they’re nowhere near higher up. Guessing most of what he’s told is hearsay. But I like to think they know what they’re talking about. He’d never claim he’s ITK though nor ever claim everything he hears is 100% legit.

I just can’t see we’d be signing these guys if we are to be sold to a half decent owner. Like Mike Ashley. H aha habahah ahahaha hahahhaa…..Bump! I think my head has just fallen off.

I can easily see why we would though. With FFP, we’re not getting the kind of owner most seem to want to buy us the title. Not gonna happen. So getting better than we have on frees is a good way to go to better the squad, than allowing Lambert to spend more on fewer positions. Instead of a CB, we now can focus say, that 8m (made up figure) on a DM. Instead of 2 AM’s, we look at 1 better one. Say we get Bendtner, we no longer have to spend on a striker that Lambert seems to want. Say we get Pilkington, again we get a decent winger and now can look at someone more expensive.

That’s what I’ve heard is the biggest reason nothing’s done yet, FFP and how much money they could spend to make us competitive. There’s a bit of interest.

This FFp is bollox the worse than can happen is a huge fine and by the time city’s lawyers have finishedit won’t be worth the paper it’s written on

Not really, the worst thing that can happen is they could get expelled from Europe. Then what?

And what new bloody owner’s going to wanna pay a 50m fine? There’s 2 owners right now that would, City’s and PSG’s, but not too many are that willing.

It’s a damper on football and on clubs who are looking for owners, but unfortunately it’s a real risk that not many, if any possible new owners are willing to take. Hell, PSG’s huge sponsorship could go to the shit if Qatar’s world cup’s taken from them as there huge sponsorship money comes from a “company” that’s helping Qatar in preparing for a huge sporting event.

Andrew.. any new owner won’t need to pay a 50M fine until they have spent a shed load.. even then most of that is suspended.. think city have paid about 10M really.. nothing to them in achieving there goals.. there 500M ground deal will nicely cover that..

Plus FPP won’t stand up in the European High Court.. UEFA will never ban a major European leagues team from entering its competitions..

Also for the life of me i cannot see if we have had a bid for the club that the likes of Senderos and Cole would have been brought.. everything would naturally go on hold till the takeover was sorted.. esp with it being so early in the summer.. there is no need to panic over signings yet..

personally the two signings show we have NO imminent that over and i would be amazed if something was announced in three weeks……

agree lionheart. ffp will not stand up in the long term citys lawyers will tie them in knots for years. Its also anti competitive in that it stops a team like us having major surgery to compete again. A lot of this ffp is to protect the utds, real madrids etc so they can get top 4 without any hassle as the the EC would not be as much of a money spinner without them. Already there are now 5-6 teams competing for 4 places so they wont want us spoiling the party even more. And yes there is def no imminent take over will be at least another year possible longer

Jay Dee.. Lerner is a clown.. the man has NO CLUE what so ever on how to run a football club..

gave MoN free reign with no structure in place.. when that back fired he appointed Mcliesh..

Then he fed us the young and hungry bollox line.. which a lot of us ( inc me ) fell for.. after that a statement in April to say he will make another statement in May..then in May a non substance statement to say we are up for sale.. yet we have no buyer lined up.. nothing..

Yes he wants to sell but all that statement was intended to do was to make us fall for the there wont be any funds because we are up for sale rubbish..

In business you carry on as usual unless u have something lined up.. which we all cna see Lerner has not..

All these statements were just to con us into not kicking off about spending decent money this summer after the Sky tv money rise..

He may be a decent guy but the man is a fool in terms of being Head of a Football Club..
