Reports are coming out today that Aston Villa have made a £1.5 million offer for Norwich midfielder Wes Hoolahan. Lambert has admitted that he plans to add one or two players to the team during the January transfer window and Hoolahan maybe the first arrival.
Lambert used to manage Hoolahan in Norwich, in-fact Lambert made Hoolahan captain during their inaugural season in the Premier League. However, he has struggled to guarantee a place under Chris Houghton. Hoolahan could possibly be Villa’s much needed creative player. Hoolahan isn’t a ‘big name’ but does carry Premier League experience so he ought to make an instant impact. Plus he has scored goals for Norwich before and does also open up play.
But this is all still a rumour but I wouldn’t be too upset with Hoolahan’s arrival. He’s experienced and if he’s under a two-three year contract that would be perfect. I’ve also read that some fans think he really is under-rated, he offered a lot to Norwich and some fans are mystified to as why he isn’t getting any game time. But it’s still unknown if Norwich would even accept it, there is some history between Norwich and Lambert so the bid might be just flat out rejected.
