Delia will be laughing her oven mitts off at that offer!!!!

Plus, I don’t rate him. He would be useful to bolster the squad but not the one who’s got the key to unlock defences.

3 goals and 5 assists in 800 minutes last season would tell you differently under Lambert. He a solid play maker who can unlock defenses.

Hoolahan is actually a very good player. Good left foot and can pick a pass. Better than what we have at the moment. This looks like the level we are at in terms of money being made available. If that is the case then there is no point targeting Lambert as this is the result of Lerner’s policy.

So is Barry Bannan better than what we have but he was hated by the fans and not rated by the management and Hoolahan is shorter than wee Barry

It simply means this is a player Lambert wants. You said it yourself he’s a very good player, has an eye for a pass, last season had a hand in a goal every 100 minutes. This signing wouldn’t prove anything in terms of money available however. We knew Lambert would go back for 1-2 of his former players and Norwich players aren’t going to cost much at all.

Lambert himself has strongly hinted that there is not much money available. I would welcome Hoolahan to the club and don’t have a problem with him being signed. Given the current feeding frenzy and the number of people calling for lambert to be sacked I’m just saying that it appears he has to work with limited funds. I think that Lambert wanted Kiyotake but it seems he is out of our price range. Whether that’s transfer fee or wages (or both) who knows?

Hoolahan is about as good as what we can hope for. Nothing great but will do a job and add experience into tge team. It also means lamberk is definitely staying

    Is that English MarVilla?

Anyway, I too think Hoolahan would be a good buy. Better than any midfielder we have with the possible exception of Delph.
And at 1.5m it would be a decent price too!

Can’t see it happening sadly with Lambert’s past with Norwich

WH coming in means we won’t be in for a Kiyotake/Couthnio type player..

    In which case.. NO THANKS.

It’s the level of player we can get now. We will only be going for the 1-2 m players either very young or very old. He’s an experienced pro that will do a job and keep our head above water which is all Lerner wants

Hoolahan’s an older version of those 2, probably not as good, but he’s a play maker. Plays naturally as an AM, Left winger or Right winger. He’s not a midfielder like Delph, Sylla or KEA but he’s a quality player.

hoolahan is a very very good player, every time I see him im impressed, even against the bigger teams.. we certainly don’t have anything like him in our current team, someone who creates through the cente of the pitch.

However, I can see deliha allowing this for a number of reasons…. unless Norwich are wanting him away… (he has just come back into the team, hopefully to put him in the shop window) if he plays today I would worry

Anyone else hearing about the agent of Steven Defour apparently saying there’s been contact with Villa, and Lambert was seen at the Porto game in December 11th.

I’ve not seen much of him, but when I have he’s caught my attention and seems decentish for a club like Norwich.
Mind you, that means he should be decentish for us at least.

We should be glad really, as this is about as ambitious as Lambert gets.
At least Hoolahan plays in the Prem.

But you do have to question why we would want to sign a player who can’t get into Norwich’s side.

    Lionheart, Kiyotake/Coutinho?
Absolutley no chance mate, I’m afraid.

Hoolahan’s a decent player, when Grant Holt was getting all the plaudits for scoring the season before last it was Wes making the goals. Can’t argue with the price either.

Are stoke albion & cardiff bigger clubs than us now ? I’m sure they’ll have more ambitious transfer targets and bigger wage budgets. Villa have bigger gates .So why ? Show some ambition lerner or sell up !

hoolahan is a decent player, ok hes not as good as most of u want, but the important thing is at present hes better than anything we have, so in terms of NOW hes a decent addition and cheap as chips
we lack any imagination in midfield only albrighton as the ability 2 cross or take on his opponent , sorry gabby does aswell
