Bid accepted so lets see. Looks a prospect and fills a position we need to so fingers crossed he doesn’t get a better offer!

I trust Sherwood knows what he’s looking for and what makes a good player. I think he will get us some quality players for not over the odds.

“Another second rate left bk noones ever heard of” – He was rated third best player in Ligue 1 behind Ibrahimovic and Lacazette, and won 8 MOTM awards all at the age of 21. If you’ve never heard of him, who are you to say he’s second rate?

Still never heard of him and the French league is rubbish. But hopefully he will turn out to be the new ashley Cole and we can feed him to Chelsea for Β£30m and keep our feeder club record going!

OohAah – is he actually second rate? He’s attracting interest from some decent teams. Also, does it matter that no one (I mean you) has heard of him?? Had you heard of Anelka or Vieira or even Benteke etc etc prior to them plying their trades over here?? If you want someone you’ve heard of we could go back in for Stephen Warnock?

He could be a great signing if it happens and fits in well with Tim’s faith in youth. I hadn’t heard of Bentaleb / Mason / Kate before they played in the Premier League but I think they’re all good.

Need to be realistic. I would like trippier to be our RB for next season. He’s from a relegated club, he’s within our budget & we could double his wages but odds on were not going to get him as more successful clubs are looking. We need to trust our scouts and sherwood to pick a player.

Amavi is a great young player. Would be hard to find a better young left back. He had the highest amount of interceptions from any in Ligue 1 this year. Lyon have had a €4 bid turned down and currently Villa are the only ones to have offered the valuation of around €8. Seems convincing Amavi to actually join villa is the struggle as he is clearly attracting a lot of interest for very good reasons.

Very true, if he does come it’s realistically to get first team football in the premier league on a decent salary to showcase himself for sale to a bigger club in the future.

Must be bullshit, nothing on the news sites about this. Would have thought that due diligence would have been done a lot earlier in the process. Like buying a house and getting the survey done the day before buying the property.

Due diligence is by the buyer on the seller not the other way round so it would be Villa that failed to satisfy the buyers due diligence. Due diligence can be undertaken pre or post a sale being agreed.

To tell you the truth, I don’t care if this takeover news is true or false. New owners or Randy, we seem to have money to spend this summer. The big wages for Richards, 8 million bid for Amavi, the 5.5 million for Huddlestone. While I would like new owners, I wouldn’t mind being stuck with Randy if he loosened the strings and gave Sherwood some money. About the supposed takeover falling through, I’m still waiting for John Percy to come out and say they failed due diligence. He’s one of the few people I’d believe.

    Total rubbish, imo.

I wonder how many players are going to be linked in and out in this window?

We could easily beat the aforementioned 70 links in a previous season that I’ve seen written somewhere.

I like to think we’ll be aiming higher this season, shame you don’t. So yeah I’m negative, that’s why I put things like “WE WILL NOT BE RELEGATED” or ” FUCK OFF LERNER, THE VILLA IS OURS” at the end of all of my posts.

I detect a hint of jealousy in the air Langford, is this because I have a bum chum who you can only fantasize about whilst I am getting the real thing? MWAH XX

At least the fixtures against the top clubs seem to be spread out a bit better this season. If we’ve got to be away then Bournemouth might be a good game for us. They’ll be nervous for their first game so might be easier to play them then that later if they do manage to find their feet in the Prem.

Anyway we have to play everyone home and away so does it really matter anyway?

All that matters is that Tim gets us playing some proper football this season minus the total (and embarassing) collapses that have blighted us.

    I’m optimistic
